In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani at An Island Life started Aloha Fridays in order to take it easy with posting too. It's easy to play along. I ask a simple question and you give a simple answer! After you answer my question, post a question on your own blog and leave your link over at An Island Life. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!
From "A Nut in a Nutshell"
When you were a baby, did you suck your thumb, have a pacifier, or have a blankie? If so, was it hard to give up?
I don't know! I probably had a pacifier, since that's what my Mom used with my brother. I know I wasn't a thumb sucker & I never had a "security blanket".
From "An Island Life"
What's your favorite thing about winter?
Nothing, I hate winter. I like it when it ENDS.
From "Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House"
What is your favorite thing to cook? Either because you enjoy cooking it, or just because you're good at it and it tastes good.
Spaghetti Sauce. My mom taught me how to make hers. Then my MIL taught me how to make hers. I combined the two to make mine. It's super yummy!
And here's my question of the week:
What's one piece of advice you've recieved that you truly appreciated and could use?
For me, it's to do my best and not worry about what I can't change. My dad is constantly re-inforcing this. I get so upset with what & how other people do things that effect me, but there's nothing I can do to change the outcomes. He helps me see that it's ok to be me, at my best, and that that's all I can hope for in life.

The best advice that I remember is every day is, "When one door closes, another one opens".
Don't sweat the small stuff.
I live by this.
When you have a new baby, don't worry about the house or how you look. It really doesn't matter. Just enjoy every second and sleep when you can!
Always kiss good night and tell your loved ones they are loved.
I want to try your spaghetti sauce!
I didn't realize until this moment that I don't even have a mantra. I NEED one!
It wasn't advice, but I truly believe in "do unto others"....if we all engaged in that rule, life would be much happier for so many people!

My husband's Aunt told me the other day.. to just live my life.. love my family and do right.. and not let all the other things or people bother or affect me. Easier said then done right? But its true.
Everything happens for a reason.
This phrase has helped me through some really rough times.

The best piece of advice I ever got was- "Casey, come on... put down your BI*CH foot. I know you have one. Dont get sad. I'd rather see you pissed off and bi*chy than sad so get the bi*ch foot down."
