Football Feud!! and Rescue the Dinos! Tryazon Party!

Many thanks to Sporting Chance Games and Tryazon for another fun game night opportunity!

We got together with some other homeschool families this weekend and tried out two new games, Football Feud and Rescue the Dinos!

Our group didn't have any die-hard football fans in it, but we went all in with football cookies and decorations!

In this game you are dealt a hand of cards that include passing and rushing yards, fumbles and interceptions & field goals. You play your cards trying to get the most points based on the point actions of the cards.  The game is played in 4 quarters and each quarter has all the players play their cards at relatively the same time. Then you move your adorable wooden football meeple along the score path to keep track of points.

We were able to understand the directions of Football Feud pretty easily, but we did decide the points calculating was a little confusing, first counting yards and then translating that to points.

The only game critique we had was that the score card was a little small for a 6 person game and we couldn't fit our score markers (adorable little wooden football meeples!) on the card together.  The quality of the pieces was really nice and we definitely enjoyed the football meeples!

In Rescue the Dinos! you play matching dinosaur cards to rescue the lost baby dinosaurs.  There are also sabotage cards that you can use to attack/steal baby dinos from other players or lure the baby dinos back into the open.

We had so much fun playing this game, even though it wasn't the "star" of the Tryazon party. Two of the kids really love dinosaurs and had a goal of finishing the game with a specific baby in their party. The adults likened the characters to favorite childhood dinosaurs from the Land Before Time movies!

We wished the Rescue the Dinos! game came in a different style box, because we all agreed the boxes where you have to split a deck and slide the cards in, are the bane of our existence!!

Either way, both games were fun and we will definitely play more!

Smart Games USA for Adults!

We have been fans of Smart Games USA for a long time, since Lucas (almost 17) and Vinnie (15) were little!  We own a LOT of their products.

We also have done several Tryazons for Smart Games already, but when I saw this one come up I knew we needed to take it!

Lucas and Vinnie are getting older and Sulley is almost 10, so one-player brain games that are more challenging are definitely something our family is interested in!

These new games are:

1. GORGEOUS

2. Challenging

3. Fun

4. Great for all ages, even Percy could handle the beginner puzzles

5. Educational

6. Worth the money

We really enjoyed challenging each other, racing to see who could finish first, and also just working on them on our own as a brain exercise.

If you gameschool, like us, you cannot go wrong with these!

Skyrise by Roxley Games!

Roxley Games and Tryazon selected me to try out and share the new Skyrise game, last month. It took me a minute to get my posts together to tell ya'll about how fun this game is because of our big 20th anniversary trip, but we really enjoyed this game and felt that it was 110% worth the cost!

We have one other game by Roxley Games, called Santorini, that we bought a LONG time ago!

Skyrise is advertised as an easy to learn and fun to play auction game!

It is a little overwhelming when you see the (beautifully illustrated) instruction manual, but once you start playing, the game-play really is pretty simple!

Sulley, my 9 year old, was able to play along with the teenagers and completely understood the game, despite the recommended age of 14 and up.

The pieces and boards are high quality and durable and the box is very sturdy. We tried out the essentials edition & the quality is superb. There are two higher tiers of collector's editions that are more expensive and come with even more deluxe parts and components.

All in, we really enjoyed the ease of play, the high quality components, and the fun strategy in multiple different parts of the game.  We will absolutely play this one with our game night friends and with just our family!

Messy Table Games!

Last weekend we were able to host a Pirate Axolotl themed game night at the library, thanks to Tryazon and Messy Table Games!

We were sent 3 new games to try out and we also brought along some of our favorite games too!

A Lotta Axolotls is a great multi-player game that involves a little strategy and a lotta fun!

Riley was so excited that she won Booty Dice after her strategy of attacking other pirates combined with gaining coins paid off!

Sulley was a pro at this game by the time we got to game night, because our family had a great time playing it in the weeks leading up to the event!

Tim and Ms. Rebecca really enjoyed Tally Up thanks to the web based score keeper!

Everybody enjoyed the pirate themed snacks!

Game Night guests could shop Messy Table games on the computer during the event!

Lots of fun games were brought in by the guests too!

Red, black and gold pirate themed paper supplies!

Pirate themed games!

Pirate and axolotl themed coloring sheets!

A Lotta Axolotls set up to play!

Booty Dice set up to play!

Tally Up!

And some pictures from our time playing the games at home!

Thanks Messy Table Games and Tryazon!
