Surgery Day 2/29-March 2

Wednesday Feb. 29
We had to get up super early to take both boys in for their surgeries.  Mom had spent the night with us & was here to help.
While I registered the boys, Tim changed Luke's diaper.  He & I both got to go back with the boys, they put us in side-by-side pre-op "rooms" so that we could go back & forth.
Luke had a big boy bed but Vinnie had a crib.
We went through all the pre-op stuff.
The nurse acted like she was going to take Vinnie in for his surgery while he was still awake. :(  I told her that I had been told I could stay with him until he was asleep.  She said I'd have to be in scrubs to do that.  I said, okay!
So, I got to go in the locker room & change into scrubs.  Yea, that was fun. I carried Vinnie into surgery & held him while they gave him the gas so he could fall asleep.  It wasn't fun.  He fought the mask and wanted to cry.  He was so tired & hungry.
After Vinnie was asleep, I went back and waited with Luke until it was time for him to go to surgery.  Vinnie came out of surgery and Tim went to be with him.  I stayed with Luke until he went to sleep.
When we got to the recovery room it was awful.  Both boys were crying and basically inconsolable.  Both boys needed Mama.  Neither wanted to nurse.
They eventually discharged us with both kids still crying.  :(
When we got home we all managed to take a nap.
In the afternoon, Mom painted with Luke.

Thursday March 1
I can't remember Thursday.  We had miserable sick kids.  Tim had to work.

Friday March 2
Luke had a fever and wouldn't eat or drink and only pee'd once all day.  We ended up taking an early afternoon trip to the emergency room for a round of IV fluids. :/  Poor dude.
After the ER he felt much better & we got stronger pain meds for him.

Update

It's been a while since I had time to blog, I've been busy and the boys have been off and on again sick. :(

On January 2, we started our homeschooling journey! We are doing really well & I am pleased with Luke's success so far!

Both boy came down with RSV, upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, and Luke managed to get an ear infection too.  We basically just survived through that week with both of them feeling miserable.

Showing off how I wear Vinnie facing out in the Moby
On Saturday Jan. 7, Mandy took Luke (still sick and feverish!) to the movies to see Puss in Boots with Grayson & Spencer.  He LOVES his big "cousins" and had a blast!

Vinnie showing off the new shirt Mandy bought him...
On Sunday Jan. 8, Vinnie and I went on a date.  We went to Cinema Cafe to see "Breaking Dawn" and it was great.  Vinnie did really well.  He sat in my lap & watched the movie for the first hour or so, then played and coo'ed in my lap for a bit, before nursing and falling asleep.  Tim stayed at home with Luke.

On Monday, Jan. 9, Tim stayed home from work so that he could keep the boys while I went to the dentist.  It was the third time I'd left Vinnie.

The first time was when he was only 1 month old, for Luke's surgery on Sept. 13.  The 2nd time I don't even remember when it was, but I just ran to Food Lion & Subway for dinner while both boys slept at home with Tim.

This time was a lot more serious, since I knew I'd be gone a couple hours and that they'd both be AWAKE while I was gone.  I knew Tim could handle it, but that didn't make leaving them any easier!

The dentist had to give me the Novocaine twice so I was pretty drugged up when he finished filling my tooth. I ended up needing to walk around for about 20 minutes before I could even drive home!

As soon as I got home, it was time to get Tim & the boys & head to the eye doctor!

I had an eye exam & apparently my pregnancy with Vinnie CORRECTED my vision! So, the reason things have been so blurry while driving (the only time I wear my glasses) is because my lenses were too strong! :)  So, I do still need glasses for driving, but a much lower prescription.

Since the boys were sick we didn't do as well as we'd hoped the first week of homeschooling, so we extended A, Red, One, and Circle for a second week.  By the end of the second week Luke knew everything except for red.  He is really struggling with the concept of color.  We are taking him in February for an eye exam.

On Wednesday, the 11th, Vinnie has his follow up for the RSV and we were cleared to resume our normal activities.  So, that night we went to Central Baptist Church for the women's Bible study and for Puggles for Luke.  (Its the 2 year old class at Awana's.)

Friday the 13th we spent doing playdates!  In the morning we went to the monthly Babywearers of Hampton Roads meeting in Norfolk.  It was fun and I saw quite a few familiar faces.

From there we went to a McDonald's for lunch & the internet & then we headed to Casey T.'s house for a Cloth Diaper playdate and swap! I only made $9, but I got some stuff cleared out. :)

It was about 4 when we left there so it was definitely time to head home.

Sunday we went to church and then to Tom & Peggy's house.

On Monday the 16th, we started B, Blue, Two, and Square.  It's the end of the week and we never really covered square or the B sounds, so we will keep doing these skills next week.

Luke does know how to count to four all by himself.  He can also count to 10 with some help.  He can say all of the letters of the alphabet correctly & recognizes A & its sound.  When we say the alphabet he can say the "next" letter several times & always gets the Z which is "last".  He understands, first, next, and last and will tell you that he wants to do whatever it is FIRST, when you're trying to get him to do something!

He also learned to say excuse me, understands taking turns, and knows the emotions happy, sad, and mad.

We had Aaron on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and didn't really do much.  We went to Rock a Bye Baby in Va Beach and exchanged some stuff and drove around so the boys could nap.

I also visited the Vitamin Shoppe for some probiotics for Vinnie and went by the bank.  That night I went grocery shopping.

On Tuesday we ran errands all day.  We went to Luke's doctor's appointment, to find out that he has another really bad ear infection.  Then we went to Amy H.'s house to buy some diapers & covers.  From there we went by Jenna's house to pick up a few diapers and visit for a bit.  Then we went to Jene's house to borrow a wrap (but its too short for me).  From there we went to Heather's house to pick up the diapers she had repaired for me and visit.  After that we made a stop at Hilary's house to pick up some diapers I bought from her & then finally stopped at the pharmacy to drop off Luke's prescription.

Wednesday, Luke was super miserable so I wasn't able to go judge the Science Fair like I wanted to, so we just hung out at home.  Betti did babysit for an hour for me, which was awesome.  I got to run to the Post Office and Hardee's with no little boys.  I was okay with it, since they were both asleep.

Thursday Tim had to stay home from work again, so I could make an emergency trip to the dentist.  The filling he placed isn't working out & I need a root canal.  I am not looking forward to it, but I will be glad to not be in pain any more!

When I got home, I grabbed the boys and we drove all the way to the oceanfront for a playdate with Selena.

Yesterday, Friday the 20th, we hung out at home until it was time for our playdate at the Bounce House with Karen, Liz, and Hilary! We had fun!

Two crummy shots of Luke at the Bounce House...he just will NOT hold still.

Today, Saturday 1/21, we hung out around the house all day. :)

Luke rocking his red FuzziBunz diaper. I am seriously loving the new colors in our diaper stash!

Still Sick

Sat. Jan 7

The boys are still mega sick. Which means we aren't doing much of anything.

Luke now has an ear infection on top of the sinus infection, upper respiratory infection, and RSV that he is sharing with his brother.

We took him to the doctor yesterday because he had only 3 wet diapers between Thursday at noon & Friday at 10 am, but they weren't concerned.  They said with his energy level its obvious he's not dehydrated.

He did have another wet (a lot wet) diaper before bed last night & wet one during the night too.  So, since Thursday at noon (its now Saturday at 8:30am) he's had 5 wet diapers and one runny bowel movement.  He's definitely headed into dehydration territory.

His temperature is up to 104.4 this morning and he's not feeling well at all.

Vinnie's cough seems to be getting worse instead of better.  He definitely NEEDS the inhaler every 6 hours and it helps a lot.  His temperature has remained stable around 99.9*, but I've been giving him the Tylenol just to help with the yuckiness he is feeling.  It seems to help him rest better.

The biggest *joy* is that now I'm getting some sinus-y thing going on.  Its miserable and my head is killing me.  There is no room for a sick Mama when both babies are sick, so this needs to vamoose quickly!

I finally started working on laundry yesterday, after taking all week off to take care of the boys, and I have 11 loads to wash, fold, and put away!  :/  A couple of those are just linens that have been puked/poo'ed on. :(

Lots of friends have offered help, and while I KNOW we could USE help, I'm not sure HOW.  I mean, quite obviously I could use someone to cook, clean, and do laundry, so I can snuggle and love on my sick little boys...but I can't ask even our closest friends to come do my chores.  Its just part of being a parent...life goes on and you do what you can & what you can't do, just doesn't get done.  Oh well.

I'm doing a pretty good job of not stressing over the mess, dishes piling up, laundry all over the kitchen and laundry, and floors needing vacuumed/mopped, but it definitely takes focus.

All in all, this has to pass eventually.  We'll make it through & then we'll catch up on the housework.  My boys need me to snuggle and nurse and love on them, so that has to be my priority.

Arr Ess Vee

RSV--my boys have it and it sucks.

On Monday the 2nd they both developed coughs.  Tuesday we did the whole "wait & see" thing and they got steadily worse.

By Wednesday, I knew it was time to go to the doctor's.  Vinnie's RSV test came back positive immediately and was glaring....they said it was the fastest/brightest positive they'd seen!  :/

Luke was running a temperature of about 101* and Vinnie's was at about 99*.  Both boys also have sinus/upper respiratory infections and "gunky" ear/nose/throat canals/tubes.

Dr. G (the touchy one) prescribed antibiotics to both boys and an inhaler for Vinnie.  She also said to keep giving Luke his cough & cold strips & to give both boys Tylenol as needed for pain/fever management.

Luke's fever is raging today.  It got up to 103.3* and this mama was pretty upset.  Both boys just want to snuggle, nurse, and cuddle, and sleep.
Earlier we went from this (above) Both boys screaming & Mommy at her wit's end...

To this (below)  Both boys passed out & in a milk coma....

I'm worried about them.  We've been SOOOO sick since October and just can't seem to catch a break.

This is what the little sicklings look like now:

Hand, Foot, Mouth 15 Weeks Yuckiness

So, 2 weeks ago, Luke was diagnosed with a double ear infection after 2 weeks of having a cold & FINALLY spiking a fever.

He wouldn't take the ammoxicillan, so a week later we were back at the doctor's.  Still had the double ear infection & they prescribed a Z-Pack.

He didn't really take that & today he was STILL running a temperature, so we headed back to the doctor.

Vinnie ran a temperature on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Monday morning he was normal, but by 4 in the afternoon he'd popped another fever & was just a mess.

So, I had both boys looked at.

The doctor examined Vinnie first & didn't see any reason for his fevers. :(

Then he examined Luke.  The good news is that both of Luke's ear infections are healed up! Yay! Without any obvious scar damage! Woot!

The bad news is, a--his ears were SERIOUSLY gunky which was gross and b--he has a great big ulcer on the right side of his throat.  The doctor said that's probably why he was crying about his ears hurting.

He has another sore coming on his hand, but other than that so far it seems to be a pretty mild case.

Luke weighed in at 24.2 lbs and Vinnie was 12 lbs and 14 oz.  My little chunker!  I can't believe he's almost 13 lbs already!

Sunday Update

I think I'm going to keep it short & sweet this week.  I don't have a ton of pictures to spruce the post up with & other than "the sick" coming AGAIN there's really not a lot to write about!

Monday 4/25 was the ship date for the I-Spy Quilt Square Swap that I am participating in, so I know we headed to the Post Office & took care of that.  We also went to the library & paid the ridiculous fines I had accrued.  We checked out a few videos and a CD for Luke and a baby name book, since #2 still doesn't have a name, but they are all going to go back today or tomorrow.

Tuesday (4/26) was Luke's well-baby visit at the pediatrician's office.  I DO NOT recommend our pediatrician Nansemond Pediatrics of CHKD to anybody!  They are rude, the doctors (in my opinion) are incompetent & not pro-natural for anything.

Luke did gain another 6 oz, so he is up to 29 1/2 inches, 19 lbs 15 oz, and still "not on the charts" for weight according to her.  His head & height were still on their curve, but she didn't tell me where they were.  Since I'll be pulling his medical records to change doctors anyway, I wasn't too concerned.

I told her I thought he might have a Sinus infection, ear infection or Strep, since he had green snot for 2 days & a runny nose for a week prior to that & she said "well, sometimes the green snot means they are getting better."  WTF?  I have ALWAYS been told that green snot= infection...clear snot= regular allergies/cold.

So, anyway, Luke got 3 shots.  We split the DTaP vaccine up, since Luke had a bad reaction to the Pertussis part of it as a little baby, so we don't give it to him anymore.  They say he'll be due for it when he's 4, but we might skip it then too!  I'll have to do more research, his reaction as a little one was AWFUL.

Wednesday (4/27) I don't have anything on my planner so we must not have done much!

Thursday (4/28) we were babysitting Grayson & Spencer for their dad.  BUT, I had finally convinced myself (during the night) that I needed to see the doctor, so we got up & were ready to go when they got here at 9:15.  I loaded all three boys into their car seats (and against my better judgement let Grayson ride in a high-back booster) and headed to Patient First.  We were quickly moved through registration & triage & my rapid strep test came back positive.  So, I had them register Lucas as well, since he probably had it to & lo and behold, his came back positive too.

So, we left there, went to the pharmacy to get Luke's antibiotics (I had gotten mine from PF) and then to McDonald's for lunch for the boys.

When we got home it was nap time.  Mandy showed up a couple hours later to take the boys home & I went to sleep for about an hour with Luke. Then when he got up I snoozed for another hour on the couch!

Friday (4/29) Luke had his GI appointment at 10:15.  Dr.  Konikoff and I came to the conclusion that Luke's lack of eating is the reason for his slow weight gain and that there has to be something causing him to not want to eat & to spit all the time, since the blood work all came back normal.

So, we decided to try putting him back on reflux medicines and see if that helps him eat any more.  If in a month or so he is eating more, we should see a corresponding weight gain.  If in a month or so he isn't eating more, we will do an Upper GI Endoscopy, where they stick a camera down his throat (he'll be put to sleep) and LOOK for a cause for him to be not eating/gaining.

We still haven't been able to fill the prescription though, since the pharmacy was out of the generic and the name brand was over $400!

Saturday, 4/30, Frankie & Tom came over around 10 to help Tim with the cabinets.  Tim had gotten up with Luke at 7 and gone to Lowe's while I slept in.  It was SO nice.  When they got home I got up & got busy on the housework.

Around 12:30 Amanda showed up with Grayson & Spencer.  We putzed around the house until about 2:00 when we finally had some lunch & then around 3:00 left the house.

Amanda & I took all the boys on a long errand-running car ride, first to her house to get her good drill, then back home to give it to Tim, then to the pharmacy to try to get Luke's prescription and then to PetSmart for dog food.

Then we headed down to MacArthur but when we got there all the boys were still asleep, so we went to Doumar's instead!  The big boys had woken up, so they split a banana milkshake & I had fries (shared with Mandy) and a caramel/hot fudge sundae.  It was good but not worth the $10 bill.

After that the boys were all up, so we went ahead & went to MacArthur to play after all.  Luke managed to get hurt & is still walking funny today.  :(

When we got home, Tim, Tom, and Frankie had a great deal done in the kitchen!

All of the upper cabinets on the interior wall are installed and the corner "unit" is also completely installed.  The corner unit consists of the large lazy susan, a drawer cabinet, and my super awesome spice cabinet/pull out. The stove is in its new location (about 2 feet over from where it used to be!) and there are only 2 more bottom cabinets to go & that side of the room is done!!  (Trim work, doors, and knobs will be added by Tim during the week.)

We spent an hour figuring out what was for dinner & finally around 9 Tim brought home McDonald's for everyone.   (except me, my morning sickness was too bad to eat by then)

I got everything ready for bed while they ate & then when Mandy & the boys headed out, we all went to bed.

19 Weeks & 3 Days

Well, 18 weeks and 6 days marked "halfway" through my pregnancy, expecting I'll only go to about 38 weeks with this little one.

Today I am 19 weeks and 3 days & while I still don't LOOK pregnant, I certainly FEEL pregnant.

18 weeks, 3 days pregnant in these "first" belly shots--they are blurry & out of focus, but you can see the TINY bit of bump that I have!

I also have "the sick" complete with Strep Throat (confirmed w/ the 10 minute swab test).  I have aches & pains, I've been puking my guts up, my head hurts, my ears hurt, my glands are swollen and sore, its pretty much just miserable!

So, that's that.

Update Post, IVs, and the Sick

Feb. 25-Friday
-I got nothing!

Feb. 26- Saturday

  • Luke ran a fever.
  • I attempted to take Aaron to his baseball try-outs but the location was changed at the last minute & nobody informed his mother. :(

Feb. 27- Sunday

  • Luke ran a fever again.
  • Luke & I skipped church, since my boy wasn't feeling well.

Feb. 28- Monday

  • I took Tim to work so that I could have the car because Luke still had a fever.
  • I got Luke a doctor's appointment & took him in.  He has an infection in his boy bits, thanks to the bubble baths we gave him. Oopsie.

March 1-Tuesday

  • Tim was up all night being sick, so he stayed home from work.  He pretty much slept all day.
  • Luke and I did our normal thing.
  • 15 Weeks

March 2-Wednesday

  • I took Tim to work so that I could have the car for my doctor's appointment.
  • We came home & cleaned house & got showered & dressed, then Luke took a nap until after the boys got here.
  • Beth arrived and the 5 of us headed to my doctor's appointment.
  • Beth stayed in the lobby with all 3 boys, so she didn't get to hear the heartbeat for all 20 seconds Dr. M listened to it.
  • It was nice to hear the heartbeat and know that no matter how run down I feel, the baby is okay.
  • I lost another 5 lbs, total loss in 15 weeks--20 lbs.
  • Dr. M said I was dehydrated & that at this point he recommends Home-Health-Care for IV hydration & IV Zofran.
  • I also got a new prescription for my tiny dose of anti-depressant, to see if that will help with my nausea.  (We think that my stress over Luke's weight, the kitchen reno, and more may be effecting my appetite.)
  • We left here and got the boys some McDonald's to eat and me some Chic-Fil-A to not eat.  :(
  • Then we headed home.  Tim got a ride with his boss, so I didn't have to go pick him up. Yay!
  • After Mandy got the boys, the three of us headed to Joe's Crab Shack for what was supposed to be a nice date dinner.  Only the food sucked. :(  I got the crab dip, which was yucky.  (Seriously, pickles in crab dip????)  Then I ordered crab stuffed shrimp & just couldn't get past the two tastes together to be able to eat it.  Tim's was okay, but way too much food for him.  Luke played with his fries & didn't touch his nuggets. Oh well.
  • We went home & to bed.

March 3-Thursday

  • Thursday day was lazy for Luke and I.  I got some housework done and made a bunch of phone calls to set up the home-health-care nurse.
  • A guy came and dropped off all the medicine and supplies that the nurses would need.
  • When Tim got home he went right to work on the kitchen.
  • Luke and I headed out to Golden Corral for dinner.  We both ate well and filled our tummies!  The nurse called while we were eating, so we scrapped our plans to go to the pharmacy & Wal-Mart and headed home.
  • I had Tim take Luke to the grocery store with him while I waited on the nurse.  I thought she was going to be right there, but she ended up being over an hour behind me.
  • At 9:15ish the nurse showed up.  She spent a long time going through all the stuff that was left and programing the IV pump.
  • Tim got home & I got Luke dressed & ready for bed.
  • Then I nursed him to sleep.
  • Tim took the dogs into the back of the house, while the nurse got me all set-up.  She taught me how to administer my Zofran (4 mg every 12 hours, on top of the 8 mg I already take orally every 6 hours) and tend to my IV line and pump.  It was 11:30 before she finished and left.
  • We all went to bed then.

March 4-Friday

  • So far today, I've eaten yogurt, a Strawberry Shortcake, and Pringles.
  •  I drank a whole glass of Hawaiian Punch and almost a whole 20 oz of Gatorade!
  • The IV seems to be helping, even though I still FEEL exhausted.
  • I got the house picked up & vacuumed and Luke bathed & down for a nap.  I have a chore to-do list, but haven't really worked on it much.  This back-pack full of IV junk is a pain in the butt!
  • I have to be on the IV for 48 hours and then Dr. M will re-evaluate if/when I need to do more IVs after seeing how it helps.
Night Time Update:
  • Well, the nurse just left. I'm off the IV fluids. Yay! I still have the IV line in though, so I can get a dose of IV Zofran Saturday morning & Sunday morning. Then Monday, I'll see if Dr. M will order more or what he wants to do from there. Monday they'll come to either remove the IV or put in a new one. (Can only have each line in for 3 days.) I'm still not 100% but I feel a lot better.

Pregnancy Number 2

I don't think I've done ANY posts devoted solely to this pregnancy, since I announced I was pregnant & even then, I don't think it was just about the pregnancy!

So, I figured, I've got a couple minutes to spare while I'm on hold (w/the bank about cashing our check for the kitchen repairs), I'll write something up!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant now and still pretty miserable.

I found out I was pregnant because I felt "off" and extremely exhausted and some of my Diaperswappers friends suggested I take a home-pregnancy-test.  Boy was I shocked to see that positive!  (I had to take 2 tests to believe it!)

I started to experience nausea and morning sickness, just like with Luke, almost immediately.  We weren't sure if I was between 5 and 12 weeks pregnant, so it was a few days before we got that question answered.  I thought for sure, since the morning sickness was so awful, that I was farther along.  No such luck.  I was only 5 weeks pregnant when I found out.

5 Weeks--Sesame Seed!

So, I've had puking, nausea, just-plain-can't-eat, and more with this pregnancy.  I've had cramps and gas, my "hemmies" are back, I've been constipated & had the runs.  I was dehydrated and had the stomach flu one weekend, then Luke had it all week, and I had it again that following weekend!  All in all, it has NOT been a good pregnancy so far.

I had an ultrasound at about 8 weeks and we got a few pictures of the baby.

My 12 week appointment fell during the time that Luke was sick & I was miserable with exhaustion.  Dr. Morgan wasn't able to find the baby's heartbeat in his office, but we are not concerned because I do still have a "little extra tissue" as he so politely put it!

On that front, I was down to 188 lbs at that appointment and I had been at about 203 lbs at the start of the menstrual cycle that this baby was conceived during.  So my total weight loss right now is 15 lbs, but I'm pretty sure I've lost more since then.  (We're quickly approaching my 16 week appointment!)

The morning sickness and exhaustion are making things so rough this time.  I'm pretty depressed about losing my milk supply, but Luke doesn't seem too phased by it.  The last two nights he has slept through the night & last night he barely nursed for 2 minutes before falling asleep.  There just wasn't any milk for him.  :(

I haven't taken a single "belly" picture, even though I do have a tiny bump going on this time.  I'm just too worn out to get cleaned up for a picture!

Tim felt the baby move a tiny bit about a week ago, but we both felt strong, purposeful kicks last night just before bed.  The baby seems to be settled to the right side of my abdomen & my uterus is about the size of a small grapefruit right now.

We're really hoping for a girl, but I'm slowly coming to peace with the idea of another son.  I mean, Luke is a REALLY cool kid.

I've pretty much got the baby's diaper stash ready, I would like another dozen newborn "all-in-ones" for going out & for ease of use, but they are pretty spendy and used for such a short time, that I'm not sure we'll be able to get them.

14 Weeks--what it looks like "for real"

Merry Christmas & by the way, I'm pregnant!

Well, it's been a week since I posted...and I was doing so well!

I've been itching to get over here & write this post, but couldn't, because I've been keeping a secret!  And, I SUCK at keeping secrets!  So, anyway, now everyone knows and I can make it "blog & Facebook official"!

Yep, you got it, Luke's going to be a big brother!  We're pregnant!  We are still unsure about how far along I am, but we're thinking its still pretty early, with Tuesday Dec. 28 being about 6-7 weeks.  Let me tell you the whole story!

Last Friday, Dec. 17, I was busy getting ready for the holidays.  I made a thread on Diaperswappers to post & share to-do lists to get support and motivation.  Only all of my posts were about how exhausted and not-motivated I was!

One of the mamas on there, suggested that I take a pregnancy test, just in case.  I had picked some up that week because I knew we were getting close to the 30 day mark for my cycle (I chart, but not well, since I'm still irregular due to breastfeeding).  So, around 2 in the afternoon, I went for it.

At first the test had a FAINT pink positive line...and I thought I was staring too hard.  So I left it for a few minutes & posted on DS & my FB group for my Due-Date-Group-Moms from Luke.  When I checked it again it was definitely positive.  To rule out some kind of fluke, I took another one!

Positive again.

I briefly contemplated waiting until Christmas to tell Tim, but when I called the doctor & they could get me in on Monday, I decided I should tell him.  So, I called him at work.  I said guess what, I got one of my presents today (Mom & Dad had brought me 2 new bras!) so I'm going to give you one.  I'm pregnant!

He said I was joking!  Ha ha! I busted up into hysterical half-laughing/half-crying and said, no I'm really not.  I'm pregnant!

He was like, Um, ok.  So, yea, that was that.

That night was the Christmas Party for the worship team and we announced to them that we were expecting.

I can't remember anything from Dec. 18

Luke & I did manage to go to church on Sunday, Dec. 19, which was nice.  After church Tim went shopping on his own, while Amanda & I took Luke shopping in Chesapeake Square.

We got home around 4:20 and I cut Tim's hair, then we all got ready to head to Loren and Heather's wedding.  They were married at her parents' home in Suffolk in a short, sweet, and simple ceremony.

Monday Dec. 20, was the day of my doctor's appointment, so Tim stayed home from work to go with me.  I had my normal health specs taken & I'd already lost about 5 lbs since Nov. 16, which was the last time I'd been to the doctor.  Doctor Morgan checked me but couldn't tell how far along I am, so we did a blood beta hCG test.
After the doctor's appointment Tim went to work and I took Luke shopping for a bit before heading home to relax.

Tuesday Dec. 21, Luke was really sick and not eating so I cancelled his therapy appointment.  Luke's big boy car seat arrived!

 Wednesday Dec. 22-
I've got nothing.  I'm pretty sure Luke's fifth tooth (top left) was in by this day!

Thursday Dec. 23-
Tim took a sick day.  We have all had the sickies & Luke has been cutting teeth on top of it all!  It's been a nasty sick week!

In the morning, Tim took Luke to Game Stop to trade in all of our video game stuff.  He was able to get enough credit to only have to spend a little out of pocket to get a PS 3 & Need for Speed 5.  He's been really wanting it & I wasn't able to get him much for Christmas, so that was his "big gift".

They also went to the bank & ran a couple other errands.  While they were gone I got a bunch of the housework done!

We spent the entire day getting ready for Christmas Eve at Mom & Dad's house.  I had sewing to do, there was wrapping to do, we had stuff to clean and more.  I think it was around 11 pm when we finally all went to bed.

Mastitis

Ugh.  I'm suffering over here.  It all started last night @ church.  I nursed Luke and when I was done my boob was killing me.

Fast forward a couple hours & I had a raging fever, aches & pains, and a lump the size of a golf ball!!

I'm getting an antibiotic and hopefully it clears up quickly.

I guess this is all part of giving Luke what's best.  It's worth it.

Blog Break

That should be explanation enough.

I'm sick.  I'll be back to post more when I feel better.  The tamiflu is supposed to help within 48 hours.

Thanks,
Stephanie

I'm sick

Update:
It's the flu...like the actual "influenza". Yuck. I'm supposed to get the vaccine but I haven't since I got out of college. Maybe next year I'll get it. (I qualify for high risk due to my asthma & the fact that I work in a school.) Today hasn't been AS bad as yesterday. I'm surviving on tylenol & laying around. I read a magazine & I think I'm going to hook my heating pad & blanket up in the living room so I can play Wii. I'm doing laundry too...we were almost out of clothes! I'm going to leave the kitchen for Tim. I also plan on getting a nice long nap in there somewhere before Tim gets home.

I'm sick. I got the darned stomach flu from Carolynn. I took today off at 9:00 am...and I'm going to the doctor tomorrow at 10:15. Even though, I'm 99.9% sure she'll say there's nothing she can do...I want to go in since I have been running a fever & am having major aches and pains. I've thrown up a couple times & had the "runs" all day long. I've been in bed...which is where I'm heading now.

Pray for me if that's your thing...I am supposed to be ovulating any day & either NEED this to delay my O or I need to get better before I do. Tim's keeping his distance to try to stay healthy.
