Quick Update of Wednesday

Yea, I hate my job. I had an awful day at work.

I got to work late yesterday because for some reason there was a HUGE back up on the highway.

They made an announcement that there would be Curriculum Mapping that day & guess what, 5th grade was up first! So, out of the blue, we found out that we had mapping. We were supposed to start at 8:30. Did anyone come to cover our classes? Nope.

So, we took our kids to resources at 8:40 & then I went to look for Mrs. White. Nowhere to be found. So then, I found Ms.Brown. She told us where to go. Then we spent AN HOUR trying to gather up all the mother f*&^ing crap we needed in order to do the mapping. Once we were completely settled in, we got to work. Only the assignment we were given was bull shit & we wasted a whole bunch of time doing it because we had to. Then we quickly plowed through the mapping (which is pointless b/c the city does it for us) and got that 50% finished. I told the others I'd finish it later, just so I could get away from them.

We had several arguments, everyone raised their voice at some point and I swore quite a bit. I can't stand my job or the people I work with.

So then, at 11:30, I go back to class. Ms. Riddick had my class. She's a retired teacher who subs. She had 4 kids moved from their spots, 2 referrals written, and half the class in a tizzy. I spent the entire rest of the school day dealing with attitudes from stuff that had happened while I was out of the room.

I was hot-headed and angry all day. I felt like we didn't get any school work done all day. I even let my students watch 2 shows on Disney. I ended up staying at work until quite late & then going home.

Tim and I watched a couple episodes (4) of Prison Break Season 1. It's ok. Nothing to RAVE about but we enjoy it. We had left over rice and gravy for dinner. Then we went to bed. I slept like a rock!

Sorry you had such a rough day. Do you mean Weds, not Thurs? Or is my week all off?

I wish you had a better school!
