Wow. Can you believe it? I am 15 weeks pregnant. It is CRAZY. There's a little baby in my belly! It's funny to me, when I think back on myself in college, and back then, I just KNEW, I'd be totally grossed out by this experience. Yet, here I sit, in AWE of what my body is able to do! When I feel the baby's little movements I get so excited & happy. It's awesome and wonderful and great, not gross at all! I'm starting to feel less sick (knockonwood) these days and I'm almost afraid to step on the scale & see if I've picked up any weight. I've been eating three steady meals a day so I'm sure I'll start to gain soon (if not already).
So, here's an update on the baby's development:
Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 4 inches and she now weighs approximately 1.75 ounces. Your baby is close to the size of a softball and you can easily tell that you are pregnant now! If you wear maternity clothes or a swimming suit, other people will be able to tell that you are pregnant also. You can probably feel your uterus about three to four inches below your bellybutton. How your baby's growing:Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (from Babycenter.com)
Well, that's all I've got!
