Another 1/2 a month is gone....May Update Part 2

M-14
On Monday, the boys and I drove to Emporia to spend the night before my court date in the morning.

T-15
Court in Emporia- The judge was in a good mood, he reduced my expired inspection ticket to just paying a $10 fine & reduced my speeding ticket to defective equipment, a $120 fine.

We went home after lunch.

W-16

Vinnie had a doctor's appointment at 9 am, due to the head cold and fever he'd been having.  The doctor couldn't find anything wrong that he could treat and sent us on our way. :(

We ran a few errands, mostly going thrift store shopping and getting Luke's hair cut.  We also had lunch at CiCi's.

In the afternoon we picked Aaron up from school and he and Luke played together until Betti picked Aaron up.

I left around 5:15 for my 2nd chiropractor appointment.  The massage therapist was a bit too strong for me & I'm sore from it today (Thursday) so I don't think I'll use her again. :/  BUT, I can turn my head without pain and that is awesome!

Th-17

Today didn't go as planned, but I think we turned it into a pretty good day!  :) We got up, and did our normal housework, thinking we were prepping for Beth to come over so I could have a sewing marathon.  Then we found out Beth couldn't stay very long at all & that pretty much made sewing a washout.

So, we quickly made back-up plans for Karen & Thomas to come over to play!

The boys actually played REALLY well together for about 2 hours and then they melted down REALLY fast & Luke went straight to bed! :)

Vinnie took a 3 hour & 45 minute long nap & Luke took an hour & 30 minute long nap!

I got a TON of work done in the kitchen & I took pictures to prove it, there is still a lot of work/dishes to be done, but it was pretty funky in there...and now its not too bad.

After both boys were up, Daddy got home & I made french toast, sausage, and scrambled eggs for dinner.  Then we took a walk around the block & to the park! :)

Luke had a blast jumping in a million puddles.

The Fun Forest play-date we had planned to go to was cancelled/moved and so we weren't able to go.
Instead we ended up at Liz's house for a playdate.   I think we went grocery shopping afterwards.

S-19

Aaron's baseball game in the morning.  Vinnie got his first sun burn. :( Aaron got to bring home the game ball for stealing 2nd, 3rd, and home to score the game-tying run.

Verbolten had opened on Friday at Busch Gardens so we went up & spent the entire day & night there.  We didn't leave until after midnight!

That's about how I feel on the carousel.  I can ride roller coasters & spinny rides all day, but the carousel makes me instantly sick! 

Luke's such a big boy! He got to ride the kiddie bumper cars & did awesome!

After Tim got home from work we all went to Tom & Peggy's house.  We had a quick dinner with them (pizza) and Tim helped them out with their computer.
Afterwards we went to Amanda's softball game, but it was over by the time Luke & I found the field.

Th-24
We went to a morning Bounce House play-date with Liz, Karen (and her mom), and Hilary.  The kids had fun & we got to visit for a bit.  Vinnie even got to play in the Bounce House! :)
Afterwards we got some groceries and lunch.

F-25
We had a play date with my new friend Alicia and her kids.  She has a pass to Botanical Gardens and so we went with her to play at the splash park.

S-26
We went to Trevor's 5th birthday party & then to Frankie's work to swim.  Luke did great swimming with swimmies on his arms and Vinnie got to experience his first time in the pool!

We went to Emporia for a Memorial Day picnic with Mom & Dad.  It was a nice relaxing day.

M-28
In the afternoon we went to Tom & Peggy's house for Memorial Day.  It was crazy and packed.

T-29
I tried to get in the baby pool out back with the kids, but it started raining just as we headed out.
Fortunately, the sun (and heat) came back after Tim got home from work & he took the boys out back to play (and Luke swim) so I could clean up the kitchen and make dinner.

W-30
We got up and moving early so we could go to the Orb Family Fun Center with Liz and Debbie.  The kids had a blast.
Vinnie reacted to sweet potatoes at dinner.  We aren't sure why he is suddenly allergic to them, but I guess from now on he can't have them.

Th-31
Luke started throwing up in his sleep during the night between Wednesday & Thursday.  We can't figure out the cause (as of June 6) and so he is going to get some tests done tomorrow.




I've been doing a lot of sewing these last few weeks.

Mother's Day 2012

Happy Mother's Day to all! :)

I spent the morning of my mother's day at home with my boys, doing housework, playing, and snuggling as we always do.

Tim brought home some groceries and flowers after church.

In the afternoon, we headed to Firehouse Subs for a picnic dinner of subs & fries from Five Guys.  After we ate, we went to the Oak Grove Lake park nearby and played on the playground & took the 1.5 mile walk with Rosie & the boys. :)

All in all, it was a good day.  I'm blessed to be the mommy to two awesome little boys!

May Update Part 1

1-T
MOPS day! The boys had fun at MOPS.

2-W
A friend from the cloth diaper group came over with her twins at 10:30 so I could measure them & sew them up some shorties....but, Luke was being mega-naughty and she ended up having to leave before I even started sewing.

3-TH
In the morning, we picked up Hilary, Aubrey, and Delaney and met up with Liz & her boys at Chesapeake Square Mall.  We visited the playplace & then walked around Target.  After Target, Beth came to the house and we had lunch & naps and I worked on my sewing.  We ran a few errands and then headed home around supper time.

4-F
In the morning the boys and I went to the Babywearer's Meet-Up so I could return Jene's wrap...that I had been "borrowing" for months.
The boys napped in the car on the way home and then in the afternoon we had all of our friends over for a pool party playdate. :)

5-S
I volunteered at the Peace.Love.Swap again.  Tim stayed home with Luke & Aaron.  After the swap Vinnie and I went grocery shopping.
I got a couple shirts for Luke, a Leapfrog walking toy for Vinnie (which Luke has dubbed a vacuum & confiscated), a bag of wooden blocks, a bag of multicolored dinosaurs (which have helped Luke learn his colors!), a bag of 50+ Littlest Pet Shop pets, a bag of 10+ "Wheel Pals", and a bag of miscellaneous Spiderman toys.
In the evening Mandy came over with the boys and we were going to have a grilled dinner together, but Spencer bumped his head coming out of the trampoline & had to get stitches.
We also babysat Melanie's kids for the first time in a long time. I think they had fun.  I was putting the boys to bed when they got picked up so I don't know how they enjoyed the end of their night, but they seemed to have fun playing while the kids were all awake. :)

6-SU
We loaded up the car for our big day & headed to Virginia Beach with Aaron, to watch Mandy run in the Color Me Rad 5K.  That was a fun experience and messy too!
When we left there we swung by the house to get a change of clothes for Luke & Aaron & then dropped Aaron off at his mom's store.
After that we went to the WRONG Broken Egg Bistro before going to the right one for a late lunch with James, Missy, Trevor, and Colton.
From there we went to Busch Gardens to see the Newsboys in concert!
At Busch Gardens we rode the train, the Log Flume, the "scrambled eggs", ate a picnic dinner in the car, and then rode the Skyride and went to the concert.
It was Luke & Vinnie's first concert! :)  The band & worship were awesome!

7-M
We took Monday off to recooperate from our busy Sunday!

8-T
Tuesday morning I woke up with a bad kink in my neck, shoulder, and back. I was in too much pain to do much.  Mandy did come over for dinner--which Tim grilled. :)

9-W
In the morning, Vinnie went in for his 9 month old well-baby visit.  After the appointment we ran a ton of errands, we went to JoAnn's for quilt stuff, to CiCi's for lunch with friends, to Newport News to pick up new diapers, to downtown Portsmouth to drop off diapers, and finally home.  It was rainy and gross out but we got MOST of our errands run. :)

10-TH
Tim took the morning off of work so I could go see the chiropractor about my neck.  I really liked Dr. Block and had IMMEDIATE relief from the first adjustment.  It was awesome.
I ran home after the adjustment, nursed Vinnie and then headed back to the doctor for my therapy appointment.  I spent an hour getting a great massage and really loosening up the spasmy muscles in my neck, back, and shoulder.  Then I got another adjustment.  By the time I left I felt 100 times better!
I picked up Luke's 2 1/2 year old pictures before heading home so Tim could go to work.

11-F
Tim worked from home on Friday so that he could go to the dentist.  It was a normal day, except that after dinner we packed up and drove to Emporia.

12-S
We spent the day in Emporia, so Tim & Dad could work on the Buick.  We rode the quad, roasted marshmallows, ate sandwiches for lunch and had a picnic dinner from the grill.  It was a nice, relaxing, stress free day. :)

April 10-30 Sunday Update

Wow, talk about being behind on the blogging! I started this post on April 16 & kept it updated through the 24th...and then never finished or published it.  Time to get that done, since it is now May 13!

April 10 (T)
After Busch Gardens with Betti & Aaron on Monday, we spent Tuesday at home with sick babies.

April 11 (W)
I went grocery shopping during the day.

April 12 (Th)
Vinnie learned to sign milk!! 

April 13 (F)
Aaron, Luke, Vinnie, and I drove to Busch Gardens at nap time & then Tim met us after work.  We hung out in Land of the Dragons the whole time until Tim got there.  Then we ate dinner in the Fest Haus, rode Alpenguist and then rode the train out of the park. :)

April 14 (S)
The boys and I went to a cloth diaper swap from 11-2 and then in the afternoon I went grocery shopping with Vinnie.

April 15 (Su)
-I've got nothing. :(

April 16 (M)
Monday morning we got up & went to the dermatologist.  It was a major waste of time.  The doctor didn't even take Vinnie's clothes off.  She wrote me a prescription (which I still haven't researched) and referred me to an allergist.  The allergist said they would only treat symptoms & don't have any way to find the causes of Vinnie's allergies at his age, so that was a waste of a phone call too.

From there we went to Wal-mart to see Ms. Kim.  She gave me another package of pictures of the kids & visited with the boys.  We tried to go shop but Vinnie woke up, so instead we went ahead & got his 8 month old pictures done.
Then we ate lunch & got some groceries.

April 17 (T)
In the morning we had MOPS. I was actually early and had a good time!
We came home & the boys napped.
In the afternoon we had a new friend over for a play-date in the sprinkler! :)

April 18 (W)
Happy Two & A Half Years Old to Luke!!

Beth came over bright & early and we went to JoAnn's to get some fabric.  From there, she headed to lunch with Peggy while the boys and I ran to Target & then Mandy's house & the pharmacy.
We met back up at the house around 1:15 and Beth helped watch the boys while I got some work done on my secret project. :)
After Beth left it was chaos for a while, as I tried to get the boys settled and fed, and ready for bed.
Betti & Aaron came over around 8 to do a load of laundry & have some dinner.
Tim got home from school after 9 and I took my Vinnie to bed.
Luke was up until 10 pm and Tim actually put him to bed & then he slept until 5 am, nursed & went back to sleep until 8 am!
I wish Vinnie hadn't gotten up at 5:45...

April 19 (Th)
I was up bright & early with a playful Vinnie, so its only 9 am and the main part of the house is clean except for vacuuming. :)

April 20 (Friday)
Busch Gardens with Frankie the pictures are in the post for Saturday April 21.  Mandy met us up there, we rode the Log Flume 5 times! We never made it to Land of the Dragons and did the Sesame Place right before closing.  We did have a good picnic dinner in the parking lot though. :)

April 26 (Thurs.)
We had a big play-date with all of our friends at our house.  Vinnie managed to get exposed to corn (or some other allergen) and ended up being sick with a reaction for the next couple days.
After nap time we played outside. :)

April 27 (F)
I had errands to run all day & was out & about busy as a bee.  We picked Aaron up to sit in the car with the kids while I did some thrift store shopping and we went to the Craddock HS playground & then the fire station playground with Liz & her boys.

April 28 (Sat.)
The boys & I dropped Tim off at the mall to do a study session for his final exams and then went to Bounce House for Lily's 3rd birthday! It was a nice party, but Luke needed a longer nap & was kind of cranky.

After the party we went to the craft store and bought quilting supplies, drove around a bit, and ended up at Tom & Peggy's house to nurse & change diapers.
After Tim finished, we picked him up and got Firehouse Subs for dinner.

April 29 (Sun)
Mandy picked Luke up in the morning and took him to Emporia with her.  He had a great day out there.  I took Vinnie to church & then we all went to Olive Garden for lunch.  After church we came home and got some work done around here.  In the evening we drove to Virginia Beach to pick up the car & then I went and picked Luke up from Mandy's house.

April 30 (Mon)
Pastor Rachel came over for a playdate in the morning.  Luke was having a combination bad day from exposure to soy milk & all the attention he had to himself in Emporia, so he was kind of a butt.  Rachel ended up leaving earlier than planned because he wouldn't share his toys.
