Merry Christmas & by the way, I'm pregnant!

Well, it's been a week since I posted...and I was doing so well!

I've been itching to get over here & write this post, but couldn't, because I've been keeping a secret!  And, I SUCK at keeping secrets!  So, anyway, now everyone knows and I can make it "blog & Facebook official"!

Yep, you got it, Luke's going to be a big brother!  We're pregnant!  We are still unsure about how far along I am, but we're thinking its still pretty early, with Tuesday Dec. 28 being about 6-7 weeks.  Let me tell you the whole story!

Last Friday, Dec. 17, I was busy getting ready for the holidays.  I made a thread on Diaperswappers to post & share to-do lists to get support and motivation.  Only all of my posts were about how exhausted and not-motivated I was!

One of the mamas on there, suggested that I take a pregnancy test, just in case.  I had picked some up that week because I knew we were getting close to the 30 day mark for my cycle (I chart, but not well, since I'm still irregular due to breastfeeding).  So, around 2 in the afternoon, I went for it.

At first the test had a FAINT pink positive line...and I thought I was staring too hard.  So I left it for a few minutes & posted on DS & my FB group for my Due-Date-Group-Moms from Luke.  When I checked it again it was definitely positive.  To rule out some kind of fluke, I took another one!

Positive again.

I briefly contemplated waiting until Christmas to tell Tim, but when I called the doctor & they could get me in on Monday, I decided I should tell him.  So, I called him at work.  I said guess what, I got one of my presents today (Mom & Dad had brought me 2 new bras!) so I'm going to give you one.  I'm pregnant!

He said I was joking!  Ha ha! I busted up into hysterical half-laughing/half-crying and said, no I'm really not.  I'm pregnant!

He was like, Um, ok.  So, yea, that was that.

That night was the Christmas Party for the worship team and we announced to them that we were expecting.

I can't remember anything from Dec. 18

Luke & I did manage to go to church on Sunday, Dec. 19, which was nice.  After church Tim went shopping on his own, while Amanda & I took Luke shopping in Chesapeake Square.

We got home around 4:20 and I cut Tim's hair, then we all got ready to head to Loren and Heather's wedding.  They were married at her parents' home in Suffolk in a short, sweet, and simple ceremony.

Monday Dec. 20, was the day of my doctor's appointment, so Tim stayed home from work to go with me.  I had my normal health specs taken & I'd already lost about 5 lbs since Nov. 16, which was the last time I'd been to the doctor.  Doctor Morgan checked me but couldn't tell how far along I am, so we did a blood beta hCG test.
After the doctor's appointment Tim went to work and I took Luke shopping for a bit before heading home to relax.

Tuesday Dec. 21, Luke was really sick and not eating so I cancelled his therapy appointment.  Luke's big boy car seat arrived!

 Wednesday Dec. 22-
I've got nothing.  I'm pretty sure Luke's fifth tooth (top left) was in by this day!

Thursday Dec. 23-
Tim took a sick day.  We have all had the sickies & Luke has been cutting teeth on top of it all!  It's been a nasty sick week!

In the morning, Tim took Luke to Game Stop to trade in all of our video game stuff.  He was able to get enough credit to only have to spend a little out of pocket to get a PS 3 & Need for Speed 5.  He's been really wanting it & I wasn't able to get him much for Christmas, so that was his "big gift".

They also went to the bank & ran a couple other errands.  While they were gone I got a bunch of the housework done!

We spent the entire day getting ready for Christmas Eve at Mom & Dad's house.  I had sewing to do, there was wrapping to do, we had stuff to clean and more.  I think it was around 11 pm when we finally all went to bed.

Quickie Update-14 Months

On Friday, Luke will officially be 14 months old!

He says Mom, Dad, dog, ball, bird.  He repeats EVERYTHING.  He has said Carolynn, So pretty, I did it, Dana, Mandy, All done, Stephanie, Tim, and more!

He signs milk, more, mom, all done. He understands the signs for jump and yucky.

He can walk & run.  He can also CLIMB!

He wears a size 18-24 months tops and 12-18 months bottoms.  We are getting ready to buy him new shoes because he JUST outgrew his size 3 1/2 wide Stride Rites.

He LOVES music.  He jams out on his Pop Tunes guitar (Thanks James, Missy, and Trevor).  He loves his drum (thanks Dad).  He even plays his xylophone, harmonica, and tambourine!  For Christmas he is getting the Pop Tunes piano.  And we plan on putting him in Kindermusic in February.

His favorite things to watch on the t.v. are the Wiggles & Toy Story.  I think I heard a rumor that he's getting Toy Story 3 for Christmas.

He likes to eat chicken, avacado, bananas, Whole-Os, and veggie straws.  He is pretty picky.  He will occasionally eat baby food but not always.

He is still reacting to soy and gluten.  So far he has been okay with the dairy I have reintroduced into my diet. BUT, get this, I don't like milk anymore.  Not even chocolate milk!  Crazy.

He doesn't sleep through the night, but he does take two 2 hour naps during the day.  His schedule goes pretty much like this:

7-8 am: Up for the day, eats a snack
8-9 am: (an hour after wake up) eats breakfast
9-10am: (2 hours after wake up) bath & get dressed
10-11am: (3 hours after wake up) nurse & nap
11-1pm: Nap
1pm: lunch & then play time
3-4:00 nurse & snuggle, if its closer to 4, he'll take a 2 hour nap, if not he skips it
6:30: dinner
7:30: get ready for bed
8:30: nurses & bed
11:30-12:30: wake up to nurse
2:30-4:30: wake up to nurse & get in Mom & Dad's bed
7:00 am: start over!

Wednesday Dec. 15
Carolynn, Luke, and I all hung out around the house during the day.

Carolynn was playing on the living room floor & Luke walked up behind/beside her & wrapped his arms around her and gave her a hug!  It was SO cute!

In the evening we headed out to Chic Fil A in Virginia Beach to do a fundraiser for an old college friend.  She's battling breast cancer & I wanted to help out in a small way.

After that, Beth met us & we went grocery shopping at Super Wal-Mart.

Late at night, I ordered Luke's "big boy" seat online.  He is getting the Radian 80SL.  It rearfaces to 45 lbs and forward faces to 80 lbs with the harness!  Its one of the best, longest lasting seats on the market.  It also is guaranteed to fit 3 across in a mid-size car and folds in half for travel!  Yay!  I'm really excited about it!

Tuesday Dec. 14
After Luke went down for his nap, Luke, Grams, and I headed out to Mandy's work.  We were dropping Grams off there with Mom.
After we did that we headed home to relax for a little bit.
Around 3:00 we headed to the Post Office, Rock a Bye Baby, and Tom & Peggy's.
Tom got to play with Luke quite a lot, even though his cancer is back & his blood counts are all really low.
From there we went to Brianna's school for her recital, but we ended up having to leave before she performed.  Carolynn got to come home with us!
After we left there we headed to church for a meeting.  Luke & Carolynn both went into the nursery and had a great time!

Snow!

Luke LOVES the snow this year! I hope this first snow is the first of many!  (Either here or at Mom & Dad's in Emporia.)

Some of the pictures repeated.  I'm not going through & fixing it.  So take THAT Blogger!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...

Yesterday, Jenna & Athena came over for a "movie date" to watch "Eclipse".  Tim took Luke to the mall while we watched the movie.  It was good times.  I didn't get a single picture of Luke & Feens together though. :(

Today, Luke & I tried really hard to get ready for church but we didn't get our act together quickly enough.  So, we stayed home and cleaned house.

When Tim got home we started getting the Christmas decorations set up.

Luke was SO cute while we were decorating the Christmas tree!  He helped us out by putting the "gift box" ornaments on the tree, over and over and over again!  He also had a great time with the bells.

He was SO excited by the decorations and the lights, he kept saying "so pretty" again and again!

Luke also got to play with his Christmas Little People & Weebles!

Tim and I got the ornaments on the top half of the tree about 50% done before it was time to get ready to go Christmas gift shopping with Grams.

This evening when we got home, Luke took one of the hand towels off of the stove & held it out on his arm like a waiter! It was SO cute!

I have lots of videos too, but its late & I'm tired, so I'm going to have to upload them later!

Play Date with Matti!

Really quickly, this morning, Luke was super cute as he was lounging in bed watching his Wiggles.

This evening, LaToya & her handsome son Matti came over for a play-date.  It was a good time!  Matti is one month younger than Luke & they play together SO well!  LaToya is one of the moms from my "Due Date Group" on Diaperswappers.  I often begin sentences, "one of my due-date-group-moms ....." and she is one of those lucky Due in Nov. '09 ladies!

The boys played & played while LaToya & I chit-chatted away the evening.  When it was just about time to go home, LaToya & I got down to business to work out a trade we're doing.  I'm fairly sure I'm making out like a bandit here, but it's all good!

Weird out-take..who's eye is that?  I don't know, but "we'll" be watching you!

LaToya asked me if I would sew for her, longies, shorties, soakers, diapers, and wipes, in exchange for her wool stash and possibly some shorties!

As I am DESPERATELY longing to learn to knit to decrease the cost of MY wool stash (I mean, Luke's longies & shorties....) I was eager to take her up on the offer.

In January, I'm going to be taking a "Learn to Knit" class at a local yarn store (LYS hereafter).  I'm also going to start going to the "Stitch & Bitch" club that they run twice a week.  I'll be able to knit or crochet & get help/guidance/support from others who enjoy yarn crafts!  (I won't be going twice a week, they just offer it 2x a week.  I'll be lucky to go once a month.)

So, in addition to several yards of flannel and a single scrap of the original Ooga Booga LaToya left me her wool stash!
