Messy Table Games!

 Last weekend we were able to host a Pirate Axolotl themed game night at the library, thanks to Tryazon and Messy Table Games! 

We were sent 3 new games to try out and we also brought along some of our favorite games too! 

A Lotta Axolotls is a great multi-player game that involves a little strategy and a lotta fun! 

Riley was so excited that she won Booty Dice after her strategy of attacking other pirates combined with gaining coins paid off! 

Sulley was a pro at this game by the time we got to game night, because our family had a great time playing it in the weeks leading up to the event! 

Tim and Ms. Rebecca really enjoyed Tally Up thanks to the web based score keeper!  

Everybody enjoyed the pirate themed snacks! 

Game Night guests could shop Messy Table games on the computer during the event!

Nomnivore Games Tryazon Party!

 Last week I got to share some new games from Nomnivore Games Inc. with some of our homeschool friends and community! Tryazon helps me connect with all kinds of companies to try out new products and share my honest opinions! As Gameschoolers, we really appreciate all the new games we have been able to add to our collection!

Nomnivore Games Inc. prides themselves on being ADHD, dyslexia and neurodivergent friendly! Very little reading is needed to play their games. The graphics are clean (and adorable) making for easy understanding.

We really enjoyed Dungeons and Dinos, one of their new games.

I think advanced 8 year olds (who understand game theory) would be able to play it easily. We played with teenagers and adults and had a good time. Those of us who know D&D had a good time comparing the Dinos to things we recognized from the other game. Our only critique was that the damage counters don't fit back into the box once they are cut out, so we will be using a different style of counter next time we play! The art is cute and the game is entertaining!

There is a pretty detailed How to Play video available on their webpage. Fortunately, we didn't need that to figure out this awesome little game!

We spent so much time playing this game, we didn't really get too far into Snack Attack, but it's just as cute and well made as Dungeons and Dinos!

The Nomnivore characters are adorable, and some of the kids enjoyed coloring pages and the awesome stickers and enamel pins that we were sent as well!

My Monjourno Journey: First 6 Weeks

Monday April 20

At noon on Friday April 17, I started taking Monjourno injections. My weight that day came in at 261.4 pounds.  

The first thing I noticed was that I didn't have to rush to the bathroom immediately after eating.  In fact, I didn't have a bowel movement until Sunday morning, after taking a dose of stool softeners.  

My blood sugar before dinner was 92, which is really low for me. I am sensitive to even small changes in my blood sugar and I could feel the low, that's why I checked.  After dinner it was at 120, which is a much more comfortable range for me.  As I work to manage my blood sugar and get used to being closer to 100, I will feel better when I'm in a healthy range. 

Tuesday June 2

I've got 6 weeks of Monjourno behind me now.  I took the 7th dose on Friday afternoon.  

So far, each dose has given me a few days of upset stomach and constipation.  I'm taking gas relief medicine and stool softeners pretty regularly.  

I'm sleeping with a heating pad most nights to help with the stomach cramps. 

I'm down 10 pounds.  My blood sugars are much more reasonable now.  I've got more energy and am eating MUCH smaller meals.  I can't eat large portions at all, even if I wanted to, they make me sick to my stomach.  

I need to be better about drinking water.  We were doing a good job of weekly hikes for several weeks, but then we slacked off.  We did do a ton of work on the kids' swingset and I was able to help a lot with that.  I'm also working on painting it, which is a lot of physical ups and downs.  

Overall, I'm glad I'm on this medicine and am looking forward to seeing how my next A1C comes out.  

Valentine's Day Sundae Party

 

Sunday Night Foods and Tryazon invited us to host a Moms & Kids Sweet Together Ice Cream Sundae Party for Valentine's Day!

I was so excited to host this party and make valentine's with our friends, but then Percy got the flu!  We didn't know it was the flu at first, but he was really sick with a high fever, so we postponed the party.  

Unfortunately, Percy is STILL sick and he shared his flu germs with me.  He also has an ear infection and pink eye. He also shared the pink eye with me.  It's pretty gross.

He was so excited about the brownie sundaes, but really sick and miserable when we had our party. 

I had tons of fun ice cream toppings but the star of the show was the Sunday Night Foods chocolate sauces, that I bought at Sprouts Market. 

We all really enjoyed our ice cream and valentine's.  

I did share our toppings with our friends and let them have their own mini ice cream parties, away from the germs at our house.  All of the friends we shared with really enjoyed the toppings.  

We can't wait until the salted caramel is available, so we can try it, too.
