Update Time--Lots of Pics!

OK, Blogger is being dumb since I installed IE 8, so pictures are going at the top today.

Here's the tees, socks, and Gerber prefolds I dyed today, soaking:
Here's the "tropical green" and "jeans blue" GMD periwinkle edged prefolds I dyed today soaking. (Green are rinse soaking & blue are dye soaking.) This is the super cool light fixture Tim installed Friday night next to the sky-light. We always said we were going to put one in & now we did! Yay!

This is what my living room looks like right now. It's a disaster! This is part of the work-in-progress that is getting the house ready for the baby/day-care.

Here are the first batch of diapers/tees that I dyed. The tees were "left over" dye and they didn't turn out very dark at all. They are definitely YELLOW and not white anymore, just very faint yellow. (Which is totally fine in my book.)

Here's just the diapers. I think they came out nicely!

Here are the pictures I shared of the nursery.
Up first is the "big kids" side of the closet. Most of the stuff in there will be heading to the garage for storage. Carolynn, Grayson, and Spencer's clothes will be relocated to the office/guest room closet.

This is the way cool fan that took Tim almost a whole day to install. Isn't it awesome?

This is Baby G's side of the closet. You can see all of his clothes!

Here's the extra pack n plays next to the guest bed:
The guest bed:

The pack n play we use right now, holding 2 car seat bases, the Safe Seat, and the swing for Baby G.
The toy part of the room (Baby toys are out, Big Kid toys are in the chest.)

Saturday June 27-

Tim got up early & headed to the car dealership. They were going to take all day to do his inspection & oil change, so I headed over to get him & then we went to Lowe's to buy stuff for the fan install in Baby G's room.

Let's see...I spent the day getting stuff done around the house & on the computer. Tim spent the day installing the fan in Baby G's room. It's looks awesome! I went grocery shopping in the afternoon & then made homemade pizza for dinner.

We ate quickly and then drove out to Harbourview to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. We really enjoyed it. I only had to run to the potty one time, so that was good!
When we got home it was bed time.
Sunday June 28-
We got up and got pretty much straight to work on the garage. It looked like it might rain so we had to work hard and fast. I listed more than 10 items on Freecycle and we really got a lot done. We spent the entire day from about 10-6:30 getting the garage clean. We only left to go pick up Tim's truck.

When we were done with the garage (mostly done, there are several boxes to come inside, several I need to repack, and a large amount of trash that needs taken to the dump) we decided to grill some cheap steaks for dinner.
So, Tim set to doing that & I made giant baked potatoes. We ate dinner while watching "Night at the Museum" and went to bed before 9 pm!
Monday June 29-
I was a super busy girlie! (Once I finally got moving!)
I had a lazy morning. Baby G woke me up at 4...I've been getting up at 4 for water & to potty pretty much every night for more than a week.. BUT, he didn't want me to go back to sleep. No matter what position I layed in, it was like he was doing jumping jacks in there! I couldn't sleep w/ the constant kicking & so my mind wandered until after 5...then I finally went to sleep & Tim's alarm went off at 6! So, I stayed in bed until 9 & spent the first two awake hours of my day, playing on the computer.
Then, I got to work!

I've gotten my bedroom completely clean (bed made, vacuumed, straightened the closet, dresser, and my craft table). I also got the bathroom swept out & all of the trash taken out of there. I also re-organized the medicine cabinets & stashes around the house, tossed old prescriptions & stuff. I realized I had 3 kinds of meds. in a box under the counter that I JUST bought new of b/c I thought we were out. I hate that!

Poor Tim's sick & needed meds & we didn't have any (so I thought) because I can't/won't take much so I haven't been keeping our "household pharmacy" well stocked! Now, all of our meds Rx & OTC & vitamins too, fit into ONE medicine cabinet! hee hee...
Let's see...I also straightened up the kitchen & got the dishwasher finished loading. (With another FULL load of dishes piled into the sink.) I gathered up dirty laundry (from all over the house) & made a heap in the back of the kitchen b/c we have to drive to VB to Tom and Peggy's house to get the detergent! Yay! (She can shop at the commissary & they carry 7th Gen!) So, I'll do laundry all day Wednesday!

I also ate some breakfast, somewhere before 1:30!
After all that I took a short break and then got back to work:

I got the nursery clean & redid my pics over the show-off thread on Diaperswappers.

I got the laundry folded.

I emptied & reloaded the dishwasher.

I went to the post-office & mailed the Goodmama I traded for a diaper for Baby G. (I also got a price quote on shipping another diaper & had them weigh my prefolds.)

I hand-washed all the non-dishwasher stuff.

I dyed 3 prefolds yellow & started dying 3 t-shirts too. I'm hoping to do one more batch tonight w/ red! (Periwinkle prefolds weigh 3 oz. each, just so you know.)

Tim and I went to Arby's for dinner b/c we had a coupon! We got 5 roast beef sandwiches, a large soda, and a med. fry for less than $10! It was great! (Plus I didn't have to mess up my freshly cleaned kitchen!)

And, we went to Hancock Fabrics & bought "tropical green", "jeans blue", and "burnt orange" dyes. (I already had "sunflower yellow" and "poppy red".) I'm hoping to get most of the periwinkles dyed & then embellished this week. I'm finally nesting!

I finished dying the three yellow tees. I got them rinsed & washed (along w/ the 3 diaps) and even into the dryer. The diapers are GORGEOUS! The tees are like BARELY yellow.

So, I started the poppy red diapers too, I only did 2 of them this time. (I wanted a really rich color.) Those diapers turned out AWESOME too! I only got them dyed & rinsed. I moved the dye into a bowl & set one tee and a pair of socks up to soak in the dye. Then I put the prefolds in the wash and went to bed.

Tuesday June 30-

I woke up at 4 am, completely unable to sleep. (It is nice to be routine/expected....but I don't like not being able to get right back to sleep.)

I spent more than an hour laying there trying to fall asleep. I finally got to sleep sometime before 6. I woke up around 9 on my own.

Since then I've gotten the red tee and socks soaking in cold water to rinse since I don't have any detergent I can't wash them yet. I've dyed the green, blue, & orange prefolds and have tees & socks soaking in each color. Now I'm on a hunt to find somewhere close by that has free & clear HE 7th Gen. detergent so I can wash them. Then I'm going to shower, possibly go out & get detergent, and get the office done.

Today's agenda includes a major over-haul of the office.

Tim thinks I'm silly. I demanded that the garage get done this weekend (even though it threatened to rain all day) and we got it almost done.

Now, the living room looks like a hurricane hit it. My school stuff takes up literally 1/2 the room & it's sloppy. There's also "stuff" to go to like 5 different places, mail, books, movies, blankets, and more just around in there.

BUT, I think the office should be the next room to get clean (since the bathrooms, nursery, and my room are done & the kitchen is as good as it's getting).

My rationale is: once the office is clean I can get my school stuff set up in here. Most of that stuff is going to go either in my "scrapbooking/arts & crafts area" or in the "office/guest room".

Once the office is clean we can also move the guest bed out of the baby's room.

THEN, we can move the stuff in the baby's room that needs to go to storage OUT to the garage.

THEN, I can finish the living room.

THEN, we can spend another day re-cleaning & finalizing the garage.

Sounds like an organized plan of attack right? I'm hoping to get it all done by this weekend. Tim is off Friday and we have no plans. We're broke, so I'm babysitting Grayson & Spencer & we aren't spending any money.

$94 of what I make this weekend is going to pay off library fines & the rest MIGHT get my car detailed. We really need to start using my car 100% of the time & only driving the truck (19 mpg) when we need the big vehicle. BUT, my car is pretty yucky (hasn't even been washed in a year!) and Tim hates driving it! So if I spend $60 to get it spiffed up, hopefully he'll drive it & not complain.

Baby G--Look what Grandmom made you!

It's a nice warm yellow sweater & hat set. Aww! Grandmom says it ought to fit you by January! Just in time for it to get really cold around here!

Thanks,
Grandmom!

Update Time

Well, I've got a minute here b/c Tim is sick in bed, so I figured I'd go ahead and do a big 'ole update post!

Sat. June 20 & Sunday June 21 (Father's Day)--Go Here.

Monday June 22-I was car-less. So I had to stay home all day. I did manage to get some housework done but it was a pretty lazy day for me. I can't remember what we had for dinner or anything!

Tuesday June 23- I had the girls. Chrissy dropped them off at about 8:30 in the morning. I got them bathed, dressed, and fed, and then we headed out. We went to Peggy's work to get my glasses and then we went to Farm Fresh. They didn't have the 7th Generation Laundry detergent I needed which sucks because I'm officially out of detergent now! UGH. It's the only HE Free and Clear I've found that doesn't hurt my sensitive skin & gets the clothes clean. I'm going to have to go on a hunt for it soon!
After Farm Fresh we went to Wal-Mart for $80 in groceries. All three girls were well-behaved, so afterwards we went to McDonald's and got lunch for $11.22 for 4 people! The kids ate in the car & when we got home it was nap time for Caro & veg-out on the computer time for Auntie Stevie.
The girls watched Harry Potter 4 while I vegged & then cleaned.
Chrissy came around 4:30 and got them.
I don't remember what I fed Tim but we had to go pick up an entertainment center off of Freecycle after that. It kind of hurt my belly to do the lifting (I'm not supposed to do that!) but oh well...I really wanted the shelving system! I can't wait to get some of these books out of boxes! After we got the thing into the garage at home, we went to bed.

Wednesday June 24-I did nothing because I was worried about Baby G not moving & then I went to Soft Cloth Bunz. You can read about that and the rest of the day here.

Thursday June 25- Yesterday was a good day over all. I got up early, got dressed & showered & out of here, and headed to VB to get Carolynn. I had to take her to her dentist appointment at Kool Smiles. I wouldn't recommend them. The dentist didn't even know why he was seeing a 23 month old. He said, "oh, how'd she lose this tooth?" Um, YOU pulled it a month ago! Duh!

Anyway, after her appt. I dropped her off at home & then went to the PO to mail the 2 diaper covers I had sold.

Then I went to Melanie's house and helped her get the kids sunscreened up & got myself ready for the pool. We probably got over there around 11:45 and stayed until close to 2! It was good fun. Jack and Sophia are really doing better about getting in the big pool & Chloe didn't have any problems as long as you didn't make her "swim". Hee hee...all in good time though. Melanie and I got to catch up because it's been like FOREVER since we've seen each other. (Me missing Bunco & not babysitting weekly any more means we don't see each other often...boo hoo...) We chatted and gabbed & talked about Baby G and how crazy it is that I'm halfway there!

When we got back to Melanie's, I ran up to take a shower, while she fed the kidlets lunch, (I hate having chlorine on me & in my hair...) and when I was done, she got a chance to try to feel Baby G move. He gave a few kicks, but I'm not sure if Melanie felt any of them, but he's still so tiny (not much smaller than Jack was when he was born!) that they're hard to feel. Sophia and Chloe both wanted a turn but their hands are just too tiny to feel and they couldn't really push hard enough. Chloe decided she wanted to hear the baby & then they both took turns putting their ears to my belly. (They didn't hear anything, just like we told them they wouldn't! Silly girls!) Sophia gave Baby G a kiss & then it was time for me to head home.

On the way home, I stopped downtown and dropped off my badge & resignation. I am officially a stay-at-home-mom! Yay!

When I got home I checked e-mail and played on my computer for a long while. When Tim got home he went straight to bed, he's sick. I made chicken wings for dinner/snack and we both ate. Then Tim went to sleep around 7 and I went back to my computer.

I bought 2 diapers & traded for another, so I'll be getting some fluffy mail soon! I also figured out that I don't really need a lot of diapers...I've got basically what I need already!

I went to bed around 10:30, which is right about when Tim started to feel like he was going to puke. Which he did, sometime before 12...it was about 12:30 when I finally got to sleep.

Friday June 26-Tim took today off of work (poor guy) and I've been on my computer all morning. Time for me to get moving though & go get this house whipped into shape again. Tomorrow begins our big garage clean-out! This afternoon, I'm taking Grayson and Spencer to Amanda's work pool to go swimming for a bit.

Saturday June 27-Garage cleaning
Sunday June 28-Garage cleaning
Monday June 29-
Tuesday June 30-
Wednesday July 1-
Thursday July 2-
Friday July 3-
Saturday July 4-
Sunday July 5-

Look at all those blank days....ah...it feels good!

Cap & Trade Robbery

Hey Folks,
So I don't normally take an active role in politics or anything of that nature, because well, ignorance is bliss! BUT, I couldn't help but see this online & then my Mom called about it too. She told me to call the congressman & tell him to vote no, but I didn't want to call & be un-educated, so I did some quick internet research. (The best kind, right?) I'm also listening to Boortz on the matter & he's got some good info too.

Check out this news article about cap and trade. Research the bill quickly. Supposedly it was “released” at 3 AM and they are supposed to vote on it TODAY. It has 1200+ pages.

A quick summary:
Here's how it's described as MSNBC.com: "The federal government will soon begin tapping into a huge new source of revenue by requiring companies to pay for the permission to emit so-called greenhouse gasses linked to global warming." While many details of the program remain unclear, the government's going to begin issuing permits by 2012. The basic outline is that "large sources of greenhouse gasses, such as electric utilities to purchase permits from the government for the gasses they emit, including carbon dioxide," which we exhale. We exhale it. It is part of us staying alive. It is going to be become a tax when it comes out of a smokestack. "A 'cap-and-trade system' would be created, under which the government would place a cap, or limit, on the total amount of greenhouse gasses that can be emitted. Companies that need to exceed their allotted level must buy offsetting permits from those that emit less." It's not a new idea. Trading pollution credits has been around for a while. This, however, is massive and has an ulterior motive.

New Diapers!

Today was the "Cloth Diaper Swap" at Soft Cloth Bunz a real, live, brick and mortar cloth diaper store in Virginia Beach!

I didn't do much of anything before the swap & I barely managed to get there on time. I was armed with all of my girly diapers and $60.

I managed to get some new diapers for the baby boy, including a Nanipoo, 2 Mutts, 2 Thirsties covers, and a WAHM All-In-One! Yay! And I got rid of the bright blue Goodmama that I wasn't loving & a wrap that I had in my Free-For-Shipping pile!

When I got home, I listed the rest of the diapers on Diaperswappers. Two of the thirsties covers that I had to sell, sold in a record 2 minutes! So, 2 covers that I got off of Freecycle brought in $14 on DS! Yay! So, now I have some paypal when I am ready to get some diapers! Yay!

When Tim got home we had to run to Zoot's to pick up his suit. He dropped it off on March 18! They called today & said he had 24 hours to get it or they were donating it to Goodwill! (No Way Jose!)

Then after that, Tim decided to be "bad" and go to Olive Garden. We just got soup & salad so it wasn't too expensive, but we've really been trying to save money.

I wasn't quite ready to go home yet after dinner, so we went to Home Depot. They had fancy fans for the baby's room & we found a cool one we loved! It has stars & a rocket on each blade & then the globe for the light looks like the Earth! It is so cool & will fit w/ our theme well!
We also purchased the track lighting that we said 2 years ago we were going to put into the kitchen & then Tim is going to move the kitchen ceiling fan into our bedroom. So we'll have fans in the back of the house! Yay! (We're going to try going AC-less when the weather starts to change.)
So, now I'll load up some pictures of my "new" diapers!

Belly Pictures!

Ok, so someone on Diaperswappers asked about being heavy and how you show your pregnancy. I have blogged about this before. It's quite depressing really and so I try not to dwell on it. BUT, to help out a fellow mama, I decided to take another set of belly pictures. I have not done them since 4 weeks. Maybe if I had done them all along you'd see a subtle change or something. BUT, I didn't, so you can barely see any change at all!

Here's what HAS changed:
-My boobs are bigger, I am wearing 2 bras in the 2nd picture to hold up the giant jugs. As soon as money allows I am going to order some mammoth pregnancy bras!
-My belly has changed shape. My organs have begun climbing into my upper abdomen and Baby Goetsch is filling up my lower abdomen. (My uterus comes all the way up to my belly button!)
-Overall my stomach is more round & less "fat rolly".
-I can only wear maternity jeans/khakis.

Here's what HASN'T changed:
-I still look fat.
-I don't have a "bump".
-My back still hurts all the time.
-I can still wear one pair of pre-preg. shorts.

So, when you weigh 189.5 lbs and are 21 weeks pregnant, that is what you look like in a slip & a skin tight tank.

Weekend Recap

We didn't get too much of anything done this weekend, but that's ok.

Saturday we slept in, then Tim got to work on the garage. I did sort out a bunch of baby clothes while I ate breakfast. (I managed to get $30 in store credit at Rock A Bye, yay!) I listed a bunch of stuff on Freecycle & then we took a nap!

After our nap, Tim went back to the garage while I showered, ate, and did some stuff on the computer. When I went to help him, he was rebuilding a stereo so we'd have some music. So, he hadn't gotten much actual work done out there. Then we had to go to Auto Zone to get some parts for said stereo & on the way back we were going to get Dairy Queen but Chrissy showed up with Miss Carolynn, so we headed back to the house to get her instead.

Tim went back to working in the garage and I took Caro to Wal-Mart. We got Caro some new shoes & an outfit & then we also got Tom's Dad's Day card, a movie for Tim, and some groceries. When we got home we got busy cooking a yummy dinner of fresh corn on the cob and steamed green beans, and grilled chicken. Carolynn was exhausted which made cooking dinner quite challenging. She ate and ate though, so that was good! After dinner we put her to bed and then followed pretty quickly after her.

Sunday we got up early...mostly thanks to Carolynn. We were up at 8 but still didn't leave the house until close to 10. I had to cut Tim's hair though & we had to feed, bathe, and clothe Carolynn. So, we got to church about 10:45 for the 11:15 service, so that was nice. We visited for a few minutes in the fellowship hall before taking our seats in the cry room. Carolynn was adorable and not fussy, even though church was during her normal nap time.

After church we went to Longhorn Steakhouse. I tried to tell Tim we should just go to Texas Roadhouse, where we know what we like & the prices are great....but NO, he wanted to try something new! So, lunch for the three of us was over $40 and Tim didn't even like his. Carolynn's food was good but she barely touched it and mine was yummy. Tim ended up finishing mine instead of his! The bread sucked and Tim's food was crummy. They gave us a $10 of a $30 purchase coupon to be used before July 19 (because it was Father's Day), which we left at Tom and Peggy's. We won't be going back!

After lunch, Chrissy still wasn't home, so we took Carolynn to Rock a Bye Baby and dropped off the box of clothing. They gave me the $30 credit (which is a rip off, that means I gave them $60 in baby clothes!) They only credit you 1/2 of what they can sell it for. I might try to find someplace else to donate. But, the $30 will come in handy I'm sure during the first year of Baby Goetsch's life! I'm sure we'll NEED something!

After that, we took Carolynn home and dropped her off. Then we headed to Tom and Peggy's. We spent most of the day being bored & staring at the t.v. which is their favorite pasttime. I went online for a while and then Tim and I headed to the "new" Babies R Us/Toys R Us. Within 2 minutes in the door I saw 3 things I wanted to add to the registry, so we went and got a scanner. We ended up adding over 20 items! Hee hee...

When we got back to Tom and Peggy's the decision had been made to order Mona Lisa's pizza. I do NOT like their pizza so I didn't eat. They also majorly screwed up the order but nobody called to complain. (I would have!)

Around about 7 o'clock Baby Goetsch decided to move back up into my rib cage (he had been up there for the first time that morning, during my shower) and began a full blown assault on my ribs and organs. It was the most active he's ever been & I was miserable. I was in agony! He literally kicked just about non-stop from 7-until 10 o'clock at night! UGH. I tried pushing on him, I tried stretching out, I tried laying on my side, NOTHING helped...I finally fell asleep around 10 & he righted himself during the night b/c he's not killing me this morning. Though he has been kicking...but he's back down low where I like him!

We came home and went straight to bed around 9ish....and that was that. I left my glasses at Tom and Peggy's so I'm homebound today. I can't safely drive w/o them. I plan on getting my shower & then getting to work on the garage/house. I MUST get this place straightened up so I can get day-care kids in here!

It's a Boy!

Sunday June 14- Tim's birthday

We slept in, putzed around the house, made Tim's cake, and then went to Tom and Peggy's around 1:45. We stayed there until about bed time and then headed home.
Monday June 15- 1/2 Day at School
I got everything done at school and completely ready to go. I had to hang around the school b/c Tim was coming after work to pick up my stuff. I mostly just read Harry Potter and hung out with my friends. After Tim picked me up we headed home, unloaded my stuff, and watched King Kong. (Wazowski had gotten sick in his cage & then puked several times over the course of a couple hours, so we were quite worried about him & almost took him to an Emergency Vet.)
Tuesday June 16- 1/4 Day at School, Last Day
Since everything at school was done and most of the kids already had their report cards, only 5 kids showed up. I had to take a child to the office for stealing. I hung out with Ms. Walters in her room, helping her do stuff on her computer. After the kids left, I read Harry Potter until the noon staff meeting. As soon as that was over I headed out. When I got home, Tim was here with the AC guys. We ate lunch and Tim continued to work. I finished watching King Kong, Tim gave up on it! He decided around 1 that he wasn't going back to work, so I took Rosie with me and took the AC unit back to R.S. Andrews.

Then, I came home and we waited for the AC guys to finish. We took the dogs for a walk but it was a bit much for me, so Tim ended up w/ both dogs before the walk was over. There's definitely a reason pregnant women waddle...it feels SO much better on the spreading hips/ligaments!
I had to lay down after that, so Tim went out and got water by himself. I don't remember what we did that night because I wasn't feeling so well.
Wednesday June 17- Ultrasound Day!

Baby Goetsch's Profile

Baby Goetsch's adorable little face...who's chin do YOU think he has? (That white spot over his left eye/nose is his foot!)

Baby Goetsch's BUSINESS! His left leg is going along the bottom of the screen & you can kind of see his foot.
We had to get up early in order to get out of the house on time for my ultrasound. We were taken in almost as soon as we got there! It was a different ultrasound tech and she really hurt me! She was pushing SUPER hard on the wand and I actually have a bruise across my entire uterus from it. We both enjoyed the time we got to spend watching our beautiful baby boy! He was head down, near my cervix, with his feet and hands over his head. He was playing with his toes and waving his arms for us. It was amazing. We got 4 pictures to keep, but one of them looks a little alien, so I'm not going to upload it! The baby weighs an estimated 12 oz. and had a heartrate of 140 bpm.
After the US we had our regular visit w/ Dr. Morgan. He checked me for yeast & I do indeed have a yeast infection, so I got antibiotics for that, yay! He also said that my weight gain or lack there-of is just fine & that as long as Baby G is growing there's nothing to worry about. I weighed 189.5 at the appt. and I started this pregnancy at 191. Everything else was A-OK and we go back in a month.
After we left the doctor's we headed to Chic Fil A for a quick breakfast. We ate and then headed out to see Peggy at work. We showed off the pictures and my lack of a bump to all her co-workers and then headed home.
At home we loaded the futon, AC unit, stroller, diaper bag, and car seat into the truck and headed to VB. We dropped Chrissy's stuff off to her and picked up Carolynn.
Then we headed to Child Space/Baby USA to look for furniture. I'll upload a picture of the crib/dresser we picked out. It is only $550 for both pieces. (We'd be getting the 3 drawer changer dresser.)
We ate lunch at Arby's. All three of us shared a large combo!

After we left there we headed to Chesapeake to go to Lowe's. We wanted to look for a boy themed ceiling fan. We didn't find ANY though! We did look at garden fences (to go around the new AC unit) and paint.

When we left there we headed out to Rite Aid to pick up my prescription and to the bank to deposit a couple checks. From there we headed to Target. We were running out of time and were determined to buy something for the baby boy! So, we searched and searched and finally bought a 12 bin toy organizer. I'll use it for cloth diapers until the baby gets too big and starts messing with it! Then we'll use it for his toys! Carolynn and I shared a pretzel and then we headed home.
(The colors really match our nursery!)
At home we grabbed the stuff we needed for dinner and then we headed to James and Missy's house. We spent the rest of the evening hanging out with them. Around 9ish, we headed home. Carolynn fell asleep in the car and so we all went straight to bed when we got home.
Thursday June 18-

Carolynn and I got up around 8:30ish and had big plans for running around. As I was getting ready to put Caro in the tub, I realized Tim had the car seat and therefore we were stuck in the house. Grand. So, we spent the day getting housework done (Caro napped) and relaxing. I got A LOT of housework done & was SUPER sore and tired from it.

When Tim got home he was upset b/c he had gotten a call during his ride home that he had a huge report due at 10 am that they JUST decided needed done. So he worked until almost 8 last night, completely ignoring Caro & I, trying to get that done. He did patty some hamburger meat for me. I cooked dinner before 8 and we had hamburgers, beef gravy, corn, and baked potatoes for dinner. It was good and we all ate well. After dinner we played with Carolynn while I cleaned the kitchen back up and then Chrissy showed up around 9 to get her.

After Caro left, Tim and I headed to bed.

Friday June 19-

Tim got up at 5 this morning for work & I got up w/ him. I made him some coffee and packed his lunch. I couldn't get right back to sleep so I read until about 6:30...then I slept until 8:45. I've been up, putzing on my computer, eating, and tending to laundry & dishes since then. I'm about to go shower & then head downtown to hand in my badge & resignation.

I might also go walk around Target or Babies R Us, but it depends on whether or not Tim gets off early.

Upcoming Plans:
Sat-NONE
Sunday-Church & Tim's parents for Dad's Day
Monday-NONE
Tuesday- NONE (Mel you don't need me to babysit anymore? right?)
Wednesday-Cloth Diaper Meet Up at Soft Cloth Bunz @ 2:00
Thursday-NONE
Friday-NONE
Saturday- NONE

WOW--it feels good to be summer!

In other news, one of the guys Tim works with offered to GIVE us his son's bedroom furniture. It's a complete set (bed, dresser, & desk) that his son used through age 18.

We've decided how we're going to paint the nursery as well and we may buy the paint soon.

The paint scheme is going to be straight from the fabric. I made this ^ in paint. We are going to do the stripes just like they are on the fabric. Then a bold red "chair rail" and then the "blue jean" color on the bottom. We will have bright white trim and the carpet is hunter green. We are going to put in a chalk board using chalk board paint. I want to get "vintage" ABC flash cards to put around the ceiling in a simple frame as a "border". I will hand paint (with white) the ABCs on the top of the chalk board. I am going to hand paint a few canvases with images from our fabric. Mom is going to help me make curtains from the fabric too.

Sunday Update

Friday June 5-
I don’t remember how work went that day, but I know I wanted to leave straight away at 3:00 and needed Terrell to drop the boys off on time. He got there at 3:10 (luckily I hadn’t left yet!) and I headed home.

When I got home, the house was over 90*. Tim spent a bit of time trying to find out what was wrong with the AC. We came to the conclusion that it was shot when smoke poured out of it! We got on the phones to my Dad and a couple AC companies and made an appointment for a salesman from R.S. Andrews to come out on Saturday.

Then we got the boys dressed and ready to go out. We took them to McDonald’s for dinner because it was too hot to do ANYTHING in our house! We got dinner for 3 off of the dollar menu for a total of less than $12, it was nice!

After dinner we took a short drive and both boys fell asleep, as desired.
When we got home, we set them up in the nursery & played Sims 3 together until Lindsey showed up to get the boys. Then we headed to bed.

Saturday June 6-
We got up and got moving, rather slowly considering all we needed to get done. We eventually got out of the house and went to Navy Federal to discuss financing our new AC system. We had been quoted anywhere from $5,000-10,000 so we were quite worried about how to pay for it all! We talked about a few options and chose the best one & then left.

We headed to Sonic for a quick lunch and then to Lowe’s to buy a couple fans. When we got home we had about 15 minutes to clean up before the salesman got there. He was really nice and went through everything with us. We found out he attends our church & his company has a program where the church can get a 5% kickback from our purchase. We were pretty sure we were going to go with him just for that reason. Then he threw in a window AC unit for us to borrow & took $100 off the total.

When he left we headed straight out to Relay for Life in Virginia Beach. We were late to the Survivor’s Reception but Tom, Peggy, Beth, Loren, and his girlfriend were all still there. We ate with them and then headed out to their site. I was pooped even before we left the house and I was more so after walking around the track! Last year’s experience was SO much different from this year’s. I mostly sat. Tim did a few laps with his dad. Loren showed off a lot. Chrissy called while we were there and asked us to babysit Carolynn so we left around 9:00 to go pick her up.
She fell asleep on the ride home and when we got home we set her up in the nursery and then went to bed ourselves.

Sunday June 7-
Tim had to run sound at the 8:30 service at church, so he was up and out quite early. Carolynn woke up as soon as he left and so I played with her in bed for a while. When I was ready to get moving I got her some oatmeal and we played on the computer while she ate. She’s adorable and I love her to bits and pieces!

I got her a bath and dressed all adorable and took a few pictures of her. We mostly just bummed around until Tim got home from church. Then, she and I went outside for a little bit before she got SUPER cranky & tired and we had to rush to get her to a nap. She cried for a little bit (like 2-3 minutes total) and it broke my heart. She eventually fell asleep and slept until like 2:00!
While she was napping Tim and I got some housework done & bummed around. I know we ate lunch, but I’m not sure what. Oh yea, we took a nap too.
When Chrissy showed up, Caro had only been awake maybe 15 minutes. Chrissy gathered her up and headed out pretty quickly.

After Chrissy and Caro left we went and took a nice long nap together. I think we got up at supper time!

I don’t remember anything else about last Sunday, so that must have been it!

Monday June 8-
Monday was a normal work day. I called Norfolk Air Heating and Cooling on the recommendation of several of Tim’s co-workers and made an appointment for them to come out that evening. After work I headed to Girl Scout Council to buy the patches for our Awards Party. I spent $115 on badges and patches! Crazy! Anyway, the girls all earned A LOT of stuff this year & I thought it was a good spread. When I got home, Bobby was already here going over things with Tim. We spent quite a bit of time with him going over everything. We decided after he left that we’d go with his company instead. They came in $600 cheaper and can get the job done within a week of payment instead of within 3-4 weeks. I need my AC back!
I can’t remember what we did that night, if anything.

Tuesday June 9-
School was ok. I had some kids get into a scuffle & ended up writing a couple referrals first thing in the morning. It was Career Day which threw off our rehearsal for promotion. We had an assembly, a guest speaker, and then another assembly for the boys. I taught Family Life to the girls during the boys’ 2nd assembly. After that we didn’t do anything until lunch. After lunch we had another rehearsal. Mrs. White fussed at me about grades being due, even though they weren’t. She told me I HAD to get them in that day. I KNEW for a fact that they weren’t due until Friday, but whatevs, I put them in that night.

So, I spent the entire school day getting the final details done for promotion & then working on my grades. I spent the entire afternoon getting both of those ready & preparing for Girl Scouts as well.

Tim came to the school & picked up a bunch of my junk that needed to go home & helped me get ready some too. When the Girl Scouts started showing up he scooted out. The “ceremony” was a joke, I had no ribbon, no hot glue guns, and nothing to do for a ceremony. I blamed it on the pregnancy & the end of the school year & it was over. Girl Scouts ended at 7:15 and then I did grades until about 8:00. I headed home after that and pretty much went straight to bed.

Wednesday June 10-
Promotion Day at school! The ceremony was nice, I was nervous as all get out. Mrs. White complimented me a great deal & really said it was nice. There was some drama with the PTA mom but oh well, it’s over now. I only had 4 students stay afterwards, which was nice b/c we could pretty much just bum around.

Mrs. Whitley went out to a Japanese restaurant and got us some lunch…I had shrimp fried rice & it was YUMMY!

We pretty much just let our kids hang out together all day and then after school I got out of there. I came home and took a nap for the rest of the evening. I was pooped, I should have KNOWN I’d have been pooped but Tim ended up telling me I couldn’t go to Bunco, even though I really wanted to. He could see it in my eyes that I was nowhere up to being able to drive. So, I didn’t eat the dinner he cooked (darn MS) and went back to bed.

Thursday June 11-
I had 8 kids show up in school. It really urked my nerves. They aren’t supposed to come back after promotion. Promotion means it’s OVER. Duh!
Anyway, I couldn’t really get a lot done with them in there, so I let them watch a movie on the closed circuit. It was the first half day of the week.

After the kids left, Ms. Moose, Ms. Clark, and I all went to Applebee’s. Our “quick” lunch turned into a 2 hour lunch complete w/ dessert! I was STUFFED.

When we got back to school I got to work big time on getting stuff done. I got SO much work done before I left at 3:30 and it felt good!

When I got home, I went to sleep again. We had eggs and bacon for dinner. I could only eat the eggs. Then I went back to sleep.

Friday June 12-
Another 8 kids showed up at school, so I had to put them to work. We got 95% of the work done in the classroom & it was GREAT. I did let them watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua which was dumb. They watched that in Mrs. Whitley’s room while I took care of phone calls to Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, and my doctor. I am trying to figure out if I am going to take a year’s unpaid leave of absence or just resign. Lovely.

I managed to get all of my work done by 1:00 and there are only 3 things on my to-do list. Yay! (Do you want to hear what they are? You do, ok. 1. Box up binders & teacher books. 2. Put posters that I’m keeping back into the poster bag. 3. Print out quarterly score reports & file those w/ report cards into the CUM folders.) Yep, that’s it! So, I took 2 hours of leave and headed home.

I managed to get about an hour and 15 minutes of napping in before Terrell showed up with the boys. I made them both lay down with me for another 45 minutes. Grayson never fell asleep but Spencer was out pretty quickly and napped until Amanda got there at a quarter to 6.
Amanda came and got the boys and Tim cleaned up the kitchen. Then we played on our computers & I napped. Then we decided around 8:30 that we were going to go out to dinner. So off to I-Hop we went. We ate and then came home and went straight to bed.

Saturday June 13-
So far, I have done nothing. I’m not dressed or showered and have no plans to do anything but go to the grocery store & return our borrowed AC unit from R.S. Andrews. We were maybe going to go to the beach w/ Chrissy but she decided to go to the pool instead & we’d have to pay to use the pool, so we’re staying home. I think we’re going to work on the garage, clean house, and eat shish-ka-bobs. Tomorrow is Tim’s 27th birthday!

I will be back...

I will be back with a normal post, soon, I promise.

Really quick update on Baby G...I can feel "him" kicking ALL THE TIME now! Yay! Still nothing strong enough for Tim to feel on the outside, but I am getting little surprise kicks all throughout my day & night! Yay! (They started on Saturday)

Update on the pregnancy--MORNING SICKNESS is back. WTF? I have been exhausted & unable to eat meat (even though I'm HUNGRY & try) for about 4-5 days now. Naps have been my buddy.

Our AC went out Friday & so we are freaking BOILING over here. We have 2 window units & 2 fans & they are BARELY keeping it under 80* in this house. Poor puppies w/ their fur coats!

I'm off to nap!

Amazing game!

Here's my quick update about my Sims 3 life!

I spent most of the first night "Creating" Tim and I. Tim's Sim looks a lot like him! Mine looks somewhat like me but the face is off a bit & the boobs aren't proportionally correct.

Then I got to work playing the game! I did cheat a little, with the motherlode code & so far I've gotten a total of $100,000 through cheating! I HAD to though. The first time I was getting ready to have our second kid & we only had $43 in the bank! Then the next time I had TRIPLETS and didn't have enough money for an expansion! So, both cheats were warranted.

So far in the game Tim and I started as "young adults" and have aged to adults. We have 6 children (totally not going to happen in real life, ya'll!) They are: Mirabelle (teen), Isaac Wayne (kid), Caden (kid), and Bartholomew (newborn), Sullivan (newborn), and Ian Nicholas (newborn)...the last three are triplets. Tim and I were both on fertility meds & I used a game-play tip to increase the chances of multiples. (It's a VERY lifelike game!)

We have lots of different traits, though when I get to pick the traits for the kids, I try to make sure they have at least one trait in common with another household member. The kids are all pretty well-off and Tim is moving right up the business career track. I'm a stay-at-home mom, my dream come true! I am good at cooking & fixing/upgrading things around the house. People around town even send me things & ask me to upgrade or repair them!

Overall, I'm VERY impressed! I've found one little bug so far, that worked itself out so it's ok. When my Sim got pregnant with the triplets it was on the same day that she was supposed to age up to adult...BUT, she got stuck as a young adult & couldn't age until after she brought the babies home. (in a moses basket mind you!) The design aspects of the game are SO fun and exciting and I am LOVING making my whole house matchy-matchy.

My house started out as a tiny, two bedroom, starter home, and now has let me see....5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large dining room, a large living room, and plenty of open space. There is an impressive playground in the back yard for the kids & we own all the fixings to throw "EPIC" parties on a regular occasion!

Anyway, I'm LOVING playing the Sims 3 and I'm sorry if it keeps me from blogging, browsing DS, Ovusoft, or Google Reader! (There's even an impressive & quite active Sims 3 FORUM!)

Toodles, I'm off to bed b/c I have to work tomorrow!

Seriously Addicted to Sims 3

Yea, it's that awesome! I've been playing my game ever since I got it & I can't wait to get back on it tonight!

I took a sick day today--to "take care of my flat tire" but then couldn't really do anything because the dealership wanted $119 per tire for a tire that only costs $89 at the most! Only problem was the place that had the tire for $89 DOESN'T have any in stock! URG. So, now we have to replace my tires with less than perfect tires, which makes me cry.

I played Sims almots all day, I did eat in between, and I just turned it off at 3:10. I've gotten a shower, but haven't gotten dressed.

As soon as I'm dressed, I'm heading over to the dealership to see if they can just plug the tire & then I'm going to Wal-Mart for groceries!

(I have 2 free coupons to Arby's, so I think that's going to be dinner tonight!)
