Skyrise by Roxley Games!

Roxley Games and Tryazon selected me to try out and share the new Skyrise game, last month. It took me a minute to get my posts together to tell ya'll about how fun this game is because of our big 20th anniversary trip, but we really enjoyed this game and felt that it was 110% worth the cost!

We have one other game by Roxley Games, called Santorini, that we bought a LONG time ago!

Skyrise is advertised as an easy to learn and fun to play auction game!

It is a little overwhelming when you see the (beautifully illustrated) instruction manual, but once you start playing, the game-play really is pretty simple!

Sulley, my 9 year old, was able to play along with the teenagers and completely understood the game, despite the recommended age of 14 and up.

The pieces and boards are high quality and durable and the box is very sturdy. We tried out the essentials edition & the quality is superb. There are two higher tiers of collector's editions that are more expensive and come with even more deluxe parts and components.

All in, we really enjoyed the ease of play, the high quality components, and the fun strategy in multiple different parts of the game.  We will absolutely play this one with our game night friends and with just our family!

Ravensburger and Disney Tryazon Party!

We recently got selected to host a Ravensburger Disney Tryazon game night!!  When three of our favorite things came together, we knew it was going to be fun!!

Tryazon and Ravensburger sent us three new games to try out with our homeschooling friends!

We've played Level 8 before during a Tryazon Party, so this was a new twist on an older favorite!

Lotti Karotte entertained kids of ALL ages with its fun and innovative game play!

Villanous Unstoppable! Was a fun new strategy game that encouraged players to work against the heroes!

We brought all our favorite Ravensburger games from home, to really showcase the brand and our love for their games and puzzles!

Vinnie did a great job setting up the game and teaching all the younger kids how to play!

Set up for Villainous Unstoppable! was a little heavy for the first time, but now that we know how to play, it'll go faster next time!

We stopped to take our group picture towards the end of the party, and some of our friends were a little tired and precocious by that point!

Candy Land Bluey Edition

Sulley got this Bluey Candy Land for Christmas and it has to be our favorite version of Candy Land ever!!

The colors are so calming and the art and characters are adorable.  The original Candy Land got a make-over while the boys were little and the board looked like it was designed by someone high on acid.  It was head-ache inducing for those of us NOT affected by sensory issues and down-right not playable by the little kids.

We love the little features of this game that make it 100% Bluey--like dance parties and the xylophone.

This is a win for our house & we highly recommend this to all Bluey fans!

Jurassic World Ravenous Raptors!

Jurassic World Ravenous Raptors is a "Hungy hungry hippos" style game for Jurassic World or dinosaur lovers!

This game is a ton of fun to play and plays exactly like the kids' classic it is modeled after.  Our only complaints about this game is the box.  It is ridiculous to put this game away!  The raptors have to be set up in "lock" mode and then all the pieces of the game have to be disassembled.  Then, you can puzzle piece it all together to get it back into the box.  We mostly end up leaving it assembled and just stuffed on top of our gaming shelves.

Smart Games USA Tryazon!

We were first introduced to Smart Games back in Virginia, when Sulley, Vinnie and Lucas were doing occupational therapy with Amy Neilson.  Amy would bring different games for the boys to do as part of their therapy time and they wouldn't even realize they were learning!

Amy is also the one who turned me onto the idea of game schooling back in 2019!  We realized quickly, how great board, puzzle, and card games are for kids and how bad video games can be for their developing brains.

When I got the e-mail from Tryazon about a Smart Games USA game designed for educators I knew I had to apply!

Tryazon sent me 2 copies each of Dress Code, IQ Jigsaw, IQ Love, IQ Love, &  IQ Gears.

From the webpage:

The weather is acting out today: it’s like having 4 seasons in 1 day! Can you help get these figurines dressed for the weather? But watch out! The order in which you get dressed is important! The perfect puzzle game for toddlers based on the hit game Colour Code. Learn about colours, shapes, sequence, and orientation. Are you a person for all seasons? Download extra challenges online!

For ages 4 and up, this game is great for problem solving and cute enough to keep even tweens entertained!! Stack the clear squares behind one of the 4 characters to match the challenges in the book.

IQ Jigsaw:
From the webpage:

The cutting edge of puzzle fun.

An IQ game that might leave you puzzled! Choose a challenge and make a 6 x 6 square by using the 9 colorful puzzle pieces and the hints given in the challenge.

This IQ game for children and adults offers a twist on regular jigsaw puzzles! Includes 120 challenges - from easy to expert - to get you in the right “frame” of mind.

This is the "hardest" of the games we were sent.  This one isn't self-contained and doesn't have a frame for the pieces to fit into.  All of the others fit into their cases neatly and were self-limiting in your attempts to solve the game.

From the webpage:

Show your brain some love with these colorful gemstones.

Can you fit all pieces on the game board? This travel-friendly puzzle game comes with a double-sided game board and 120 challenges... for an extended relationship! All you need is love.

I think this one was the fan favorite among our friends and family.  The game is beautiful and its challenging while also being solvable.

From the webpage:

120 Challenges in three playing modes!

Multiple levels of brain teasing fun! SmartGames new IQ-Puzzler Pro features 120 challenges in three playing modes, including both 2D and 3D challenges!

The top of the game board features a grid for 2D challenges and a separate grid for 3D pyramid challenges, while the bottom of the board features a completely different 2D challenge grid.

All in the same compact, portable travel case.

This one reminds me a lot of "kanoodle" another brain teaser puzzle game we like.

From the webpage:

An IQ game that will put your brain in high gear! Can you fit all the gears on the game board? When you have the correct solution, the pieces will connect…and the big wheels on the sides of the gameboard will spin together!

Includes 120 challenges, from easy to expert.

We had a great time showing these games off in all of our different homeschool and educational spaces!

We decided to donate the 2nd copy of Code Names to our therapy center, where Percy and Sulley receive speech and occupational therapy.  They are allowed to choose a game to play with during their sessions and I think this one will be a great fit for their space!

We are donating IQ Love and IQ Jigsaw to Rocky Mountain Enrichment, where Percy attends homeschool enrichment this year and Sulley attended last year.

Finally, IQ Puzzler Pro and IQ Gears are being donated to Colorado Early Colleges Colorado Springs Homeschool Academy, where Vinnie and Sulley are attending enrichment this year.  Sulley has a class called "Games and Puzzles" and I think he and his classmates will really enjoy having these two games in their collection!
